We reserved upfront a table in the cave au vin but it should have bene specified this means downstairs and not in the cellar where there is only one tablet for 2 available and it was already occupied. When we asked about it, we got quite a rude answer.
The menù starts with a delicious trio of amuse bouche and continues with 3 dishes combining vegetables and fish, all balanced and on point. We pick a bottle of Champagne to go with but as the guests are many the velocity of the service doesnt allow us to enjoy it with the food as we Wish, the bottle is kept in another room and everytime we want a glass we need to ask. We pick a second bottle asking for a suggestion but when It comes temperature is too high to be served so we approach 2 main courses without proper pairing and being these meat based and quite intense in terms of flavours we can not fully enjoy. Also these are served with a piece of bread missing one slice, quite weird.
Third bottle of wine we order is the most disappointing surprise as it arrives unfiltered and hazy but this wasn't mentioned anywhere by the Sommelier or in the wine list. We send it back and 3 poured glasses are charged anyhow at half of the price of the bottle.
Overall an average esperienze which could improve by having more people taking care of the tables and a bit more attention to the guests. Food is good with high spikes, ingredients are fresh and well managed. Wines are quite expensive and not explained as they should
Our favorite dish was the sea bass with miso butter sauce - which perhaps was the best bite of food I’ve ever experienced.
A must, if you love a tasting menu and are in Nice. We paired wine as well and it was flawless.
We dined in the wine cellar to celebrate our anniversary and it could not have been more perfect. Thank you chef and team. ????♥️
