A Perfect Farewell Lunch at Brasserie L’Union 1949
What a wonderful last meal to wrap up our visit to the Côte d’Azur! Brasserie L’Union 1949 felt like the perfect place to say au revoir to Nice — warm, lively, and deliciously local.
We shared our plates, which felt just right here — hearty portions of honest, comforting Niçoise cooking that begs to be passed around. The house-made ravioli were exactly what you dream of in this region: tender, flavourful, and served in generous, steaming bowls. Every bite was a reminder that tradition, when done well, always tastes better.
The staff were so welcoming — it’s the kind of brasserie where you feel like a regular even if you’re not. The terrace and bustling dining room were full of locals, which tells you all you need to know.
If you want a true taste of old-school Nice, skip the fancy spots and come here instead. We couldn’t have chosen a better place for our last lunch — and we’re already looking forward to the next one.

Super goed restaurant. Leuk terras achter met een fijne sfeer. Eten is heerlijk. Porties zijn groot, hou er rekening mee als je voorgerechten besteld, wat een aanrader is, typisch "Nice". Vriendelijke bediening! Vrij goedkoop voor Nice. Aanrader om te reserveren. We waren met zn achten en het eten werd snel geserveerd.

Un excellent restaurant avec des très bons produits, un staff accueillant souriant et très professionnels.
Seul bémol, il est dommage d’attendre près de 20 minutes pour se faire servir une boisson par le « serveur » (qui est difficilement identifiable car contrairement aux autres serveurs qui sont en tenus, lui est en civil) passant et repassant en nous toisant du regard.
Je recommande vivement.

L’adresse est idéale pour un beau moment de convivialité entre amis ou en famille.
Les plats cuisinés «fait Maison « sont dans la justesse et la carte est généreuse.
Vous êtes accueilli avec un délicieux sourire et le service est géré de mains de Maîtres, d’une efficacité des plus redoutable.
