What a pity. Was looking forward to my lunch here. The view from the terrace is fabulous, even if Mougins is too 'confected' now. Sterile even. From the outset L'Amandier disappointed. The well deserved loss of that lone Michelin star permeated even to the surly welcome from the receptionist - no valet parking despite being told there was. I then had to 'beg' for a decent table, grudgingly given. C'mon people who were you holding it for? The place was half empty. I was driving, so took a glass of recommended provencal white. The Sea Bass was over-cooked, all delicate flavour lost. I quite enjoyed the 'tempura' of zucchini flowers, crisp and tasty. I reserve my contempt for the over-priced (Euros 70) 600grams of gristly entrecote and tired frites. I gave up with jaw-strain. A flurry of excitement followed with Isles Flotant, but sadly a mirage. A hard unloved tasteless puck aground in a tasty sea of 'English custard'. - Michel Roux I miss you. The waiters seemed not to care - remember this is a very expensive restaurant. In a word, L'Amandier is Ish and only just.

Food was very good, view is spectacular but Service is very weak. They forgot to serve our second wine and dessert even after many follow up calls, all served with rude attitude. they insist to show you how stressed and unhappy while doing their service.
I hope they will change the team, maybe they get back their Michelin star…

après une excellente expérience il y a deux ans, j'y suis retourné récemment avec des amis.
déception...cuisine minimaliste sans intérêt : pour ma part homard (3 petits morceaux) sur une salade insipide, puis quelques gambas sur un lit de petits pois...Bof, aucune originalité.
par contre l'addition est bien assaisonnée !
