We left deeply disappointed with our recent stay—an experience that fell far below the standards one would reasonably expect from a 4-star hotel. From the moment we arrived, it became clear that the level of cleanliness and attention to detail was lacking. Areas that should have been spotless were not, and basic expectations for hygiene and upkeep were simply not met.

Equally concerning was the service. Staff appeared disinterested, unhelpful, and at times entirely inattentive. Requests were either ignored or met with indifference, and there was a noticeable lack of hospitality throughout our stay.

When booking a property with a 4-star rating, there is a reasonable assumption that a certain level of quality, professionalism, and care will be delivered. Unfortunately, none of those expectations were fulfilled.

We had looked forward to a comfortable, well-managed experience, but what we encountered instead was frustrating and far below the standard that should be associated with a property of this caliber. We sincerely hope improvements are made, but based on this visit, we would be reluctant to return.

We were disappointed with our stay—not what you'd expect from a 4-star hotel. The place wasn't very clean, and the staff wasn't helpful or attentive. We expected better and unfortunately didn’t get it.

A Hidden Gem of True Hospitality ... We’ll Be Back!

We spent ten wonderful days at Le Cavendish Hotel in early July and were genuinely surprised by the level of care, warmth, and professionalism from the entire staff. Everything exceeded our expectations: a rare find these days!

The rooms were impeccably clean and thoughtfully prepared every single day. The sleeping comfort was excellent, with absolute silence at night ensuring true rest.

Breakfast deserves a special mention: fresh, homemade cakes, top-quality ingredients, and a wide selection that felt more like a boutique brunch than a standard hotel breakfast. It was a highlight of our mornings.

Another wonderful touch was the daily aperitivo offered by the hotel: the perfect moment to relax and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. You could really feel that the staff not only do their job with excellence, but they genuinely enjoy it, making every guest feel unique and special.

In a world full of impersonal B&Bs and average stays, Le Cavendish truly sets the bar for real hospitality. This place is a gem and we’ll definitely return next year.

My wife and I had a great stay at Le Cavendish, | Rooms are a good size and nice small balcony was good ,maybe a couple of folding chairs to make use of it would have been nice, nice local bottle of Rose in room on arrival was nice too.| Breakfast was good ,nice fresh produce, fruit and baking etc| Hotel is close to train station and all the tourist attractions.| The wine tasting is a nice touch, it was a great way to meet fellow guests and get to know the staff better, | Shout out for the staff who were very friendly and helpful, Oliver gave us good tips on places to go and visit, | Sibel was nice too , Raoul was superb, it was great chatting to him and finding out that he had worked there for 25 years wow, he was really helpful and a credit to the hotel, but really all the staff are very nice.| I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Cannes,| We came as guests and left as friends.

O hotel é super bem localizado: conseguimos ir sempre a pé para a rua dos restaurantes e para as áreas mais movimentadas da cidade, o que foi ótimo para explorar e comer em lugares muito gostosos sem precisar de carro.||A equipe foi extremamente atenciosa e prestativa durante toda a estadia. Um detalhe muito legal é que à tarde eles oferecem uma degustação de vinhos no bar do hotel, o que deixa o clima ainda mais especial e acolhedor.||Foi uma hospedagem muito gostosa e que realmente vale super a pena. Recomendo sem dúvidas!

Given the reviews, we were expecting a friendly welcome, it wasn't, it was business-like and to the point, not very friendly at all, verging on grumpy sadly, it felt like we were checking in to a chain hotel. Also, we weren't expecting the 200 euros charge to cover incidentals. We put cash down, but changed it to card towards the end of our stay as we didn't want to change up more cash. There is also a city tax, which was around 40 euros for the week. ||Our room was OK, not many power points, no mirror in room near a power point, to use hair straighteners etc, no power point in bathroom for them either. One power point only worked if you had the light on!||Shower leaked profusely on to the floor (I think the drain needs cleaning out), no shelves to put your showering stuff. Shampoo supplied, but no conditioner.|Limited tea/coffee, dried milk powder, no sugar, although there is a fridge, so we bought fresh milk from the local shop.||Bedding of good quality. Also, very good air conditioning. Great view from our balcony, very interesting watching life go on in the streets of Cannes - we would have liked a couple of chairs on the balcony though! Rooms are well soundproofed (if your immediate neighbour doesn't bang their door shut late at night)||TV had UK channels, but buffered a lot - forgive me if I'm wrong, but we just couldn't find the volume button on the remote, to either turn up, or down, which was irritating - don't know if this is meant to be, in order to reduce noise or not? Annoying either way.||This hotel does have it's charm, the lift is lovely, but we found the décor very dour, particularly in the stairway - don't know if this is meant to reflect the era or not?|Breakfast was OK, but on three of the seven mornings, we had to ask for plates as there weren't any. Breakfast appears to be run by young staff, although entirely pleasant, despite not being busy, they weren't on the ball.||We skipped the 'free wine tasting' as we're not really wine drinkers - it's a nice offering though. However, there isn't a bar or restaurant at the hotel, to wind down after a day or night out.||The walk to the private or public beaches is a good 15-20 minutes. 5 minutes to the train station.||I would consider this 'hotel' more of a Bed and Breakfast - as there are no other facilities, other than - bed and breakfast!||The breakfast staff were always very friendly, but the stand out staff were Marie (incredibly helpful and friendly) and I think a young chap called Oliver (?) Perhaps had Marie been at reception, on our arrival, our first impressions would have been much better.||Don't get me wrong, this is an entirely acceptable place to stay, within easy reach of Croisette, marina, beaches etc, so long as you don't expect many amenities and don't mind a steep walk back!

Let me tell you something. It is the most amazing place. The service is unbelievable. They go out of their way to help you. I’ve been around a lot of hotels travelled a lot but one of the top places would be this place because of the service and the kindness and the rooms are amazing. They go out of their way to show you around a great experience and the best thing is they have an evening every night with alcohol and bliss for free place.

I cannot praise this hotel and its staff enough. |From the moment you walk into the foyer of the quaint, historic family run boutique hotel, you are made to feel welcome but it is taken to another level with the offer of a complimentary drink.|Our room was one of the rotunda style with a large balcony looking down to the streets below.|Each evening between 6.30pm and 8.30 pm there is a complimentary wine testing event which makes locally produced wines available to taste. |At this we met the son of the owner Johan, who was obviously and rightly so, proud of the hotel and the high standard of service they provide. His recommendations for two local restaurants, which we took him up on over our two night stay, were absolutely spot on.|The only meal served at the hotel is a continental breakfast which was of a very high standard and plentiful.|Without doubt we will return .|We will definitely return

Outstanding Staff and Service!
From the moment we arrived, the hotel staff made us feel welcome and cared for. Everyone—from the front desk to housekeeping—was polite, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. They went out of their way to accommodate our needs and made our stay truly comfortable. It's rare to find such consistently excellent service. Thank you Johan, Marie, Majd, Albin from the reception and Raouf, Oliver and Ionuts from the bar for making our visit so enjoyable!

Le Cavendish is quite a nice hotel within walking distance from la Croisette.|The first contact with the reception is very welcoming with given information about places of interest and restaurants nearby.|The room is cosy and clean. A plus - drinks offered in the evening in a nice atmosphere.|Special thanks to Olivier during breakfast and Raouf in the evening who were friendly and service oriented. Nothing was too much. Hôtel très agréable et personnel très sympa mais la douche à un débit ridicule. J’ai cru au début que la douche avait besoin d’être réparée mais on m’a expliqué que c’était pour économiser de l’eau. On a froid en prenant une douche tellement il y’a peu d’eau. Il faut également plus de prises dans la chambre.

Most welcoming stay I ever had from service to hospitality and peace and comfort. I will definitely be back next year.

Staff were extremely helpful and friendly and professional especially Marie who gave us a breakdown of the Cannes city map showing us places of interest and also restaurant recommendations which was invaluable as we were only on an overnight stop as we were joining a cruise ship the next morning! Also the free wine tasting is a delightful added bonus and a lovely start to your evening as well as the central location of the hotel.

4 nuits dans cet hôtel, pour un grand week-end de Pâques, vous réconcilient avec l'hôtellerie telle que vous la souhaitez. Un personnel avenant et souriant et un service irréprochable. La bonne idée de "l'apéro" gratuit tous les soirs permet d'échanger avec les clients et le personnel. De plus, situé à 5mn à pied du palais des Festivals. Nous y reviendrons avec plaisir.

Service et accueil impeccable mais des chambres en grand besoin de rénovation. Il y a de la peinture cache misère mais on voit bien que tout est vieillissant.
Un hôtel 4* qui n'a pas de prise au niveau du lit en 2025 en dit beaucoup.

Comme tous les ans, nous séjournons au Cavendish.

We have just returned from Cannes and had the most wonderful stay at Le Cavendish! The hotel is beautiful, an excellent location in the heart of Cannes. You are so close to the beach, and many great restaurants. The staff are so friendly and made us feel so welcome, this wasn’t our first visit and we will certainly be back!

I stayed for 5 nights during a recent conference in Cannes in end Feb 2024. We enjoyed the breakfast with the daily bakes, and Happy Hour from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Kudos to the staff for their impeccable service and being so helpful, especially Johan and Raouf! You guys have made our stay exceptional!

Comme tous les ans depuis maintenant 5 ans nous venons dans ce merveilleux hôtel familial y passer plusieurs jours. L'accueil, le professionnalisme, les chambres et surtout le personnel sont exceptionnels. Just completed a wonderful 5-night stay here for business. Staff was extremely kind and accommodating, hotel was quiet even when full for a conference for a few days, location is perfect, loved my little balcony. I will absolutely stay here again when I return to Cannes.

Came for a conference at Pale de Festivals, and this hotel was perfect for me and my colleague. 7 min slow walk from the convention center, coffee shop, places to eat and take a nice walk. The staff was friendly and attentive- special thanks to Rauof and Majed. Spacious rooms, heated and clean. Will be back next year!

Stayed here for my trip to IPEM Cannes, and the hotel is very centrally located, and is a short walk to the ocean. The staff is absolutely lovely, and I would stay here again because they were so kind and helpful. The rooms are very nice; I had a small balcony and a great view of the street. I'd recommend it wholeheartedly. Additionally, If you like a bit of history, there is an elevator they've modernized and preserved since the 1920s.
