HÔTEL-RESTAURANT LES ORANGERIES

Nous sommes arrivés devant l'hôtel, pas de signalisation claire de l'entrée, obligé d'appeler le réceptionniste pour savoir où se trouve l'entrée. Celui-ci nous indique aussi où se trouve le parking difficile à trouver, le village étant bloqué par une fête. Le parking est fermé et gratuit, ce qui est rare.
Le réceptionniste était agréable. La chambre était spacieuse, mais à 130€ la nuit côté rue, on s'attend à au moins la climatisation surtout durant notre séjour en pleine canicule, un petit plateau d'accueil avec bouteille d'eau et bouilloire avec thé et café et petit frigo serai le bienvenu. L'ensemble est propre sauf nos draps tachés...
La literie confortable.
Le petit déjeuner et composé de bon produits, un choix plus élargi de jus de fruits et surtout un peu de charcuterie serai aussi le bienvenu. La réceptionniste nous a expliqué que l'absence de charcuterie est lié à l'impact environnemental, le tarif de 16.50€ lui non...
Le restaurant est bon le prix des boissons prohibitif, 50€ deux bières, un whisky...
La bâtisse et le parc sont magnifique, mais le tout manque clairement d'entretien ( pour le climat certainement !! )
Bref pourrai être une belle étape, mais à priori la rentabilité prime sur la qualité, dommage.

It was our first visit to Les Orangeries and it did not disappoint. A beautiful old building, sympathetically renovated to keep lots of original features. Our room overlooked the beautiful gardens and swimming pool. There is a really good restaurant that we used both evenings. Lovely food. The personnel at this place are amazing, both in the hotel and restaurant. It was such a tranquil place to stay, hard to believe you are in the centre of Lussac-les-Chateaux. We will go again!

We stayed at Les Orangeries for 2 nights and we will be returning. This is a delightful place, in a really beautiful setting, even though it is classed as the centre of the town. The staff are welcoming and very professional. We had one of the Garden rooms and it was very tastefully decorated with a good shower room and separate toilet. The building is old and the owners have tried to use and keep all things appertaining to its age to maintain the ambience. We loved all the little quirky touches such as the little metallic birds on the restaurant tables. We arrived on a Sunday when there was a limited menu in the restaurant. We also ate the following evening with a choice of 3 starters, 3 mains and 2 desserts. Neither evening was a disappointment. Good waiting staff too. We were fortunate to be able to get nice weather to allow us to use the really good swimming pool, the lovely terrace and the beautiful garden. For us this charming hotel has everything. The facilities justify the price.

Superbe, délicieux, reposant

We only stayed for one night on a cycling tour to Bordeaux, but would love to stay for longer. It was the most expensive hotel of the trip, but the hotel and setting are worth it. Our room was quite a walk through the rambling corridors and faced the busy main road. The windows did an amazing job of cutting out the noise.
The pool was huge and a "fresh" temperature, which is fine if you actually want to swim a few lengths.
I would recommend eating at the hotel. We decided to try and find somewhere in town to eat, but the options are extremely limited. We did find a nice Tabac nearby for a couple drinks.
