When you start your Camino in St. Jean, Pied de Port this is absolutely the place to stay. Manu, the owner is incredibly friendly and accommodating. The rooms are small and get you used to shared spaces. He provides a nice breakfast start you on your way.
The location is right across and down from the tourist office.
With a little effort, you may find as I did that you walk a number of stages with the people that you meet in this albergue.

Bonne accueil. Nous avons eu le petit déjeuner mis à disposition à l'heure que vous voulez intéressant pour les départs tôt matin.La demie pension pas de chance le propriétaire avait arrêté depuis 3 jours avant notre arrivée. Les douches bien car vous en avez plusieurs ce qui fait que cela évite les bouchons ???? Si vous voulez faire votre popote et ne pas faire de restaurant possible de le faire au gîte. Micro-ondes ,frigo a disposition. Point négatif c'est que se lever avec discrétion est impossible car le plancher et les lits craques ....???? Le gîte est en plein centre donc bien placé pour continuer votre chemin il y plus qu'à descendre la rue ????.
