My mother and son came over from England on the way to Normandie and Bretagne. Our first night in France was in Abbeville, and the Michelin Red Guide suggested La Corne, with several forks. An efficient and welcoming waitress set us up with Pineau de Charentes pour commencer, guided us through the menu, and attended to us efficiently. At our first tastes we looked at each other, nodded, and said, "Yes, we're back in France, where they really know how to cook food." We all three of us cherish that meal at La Corne in our memories. It was one of those quiet, unobtrusive places so common in France where they take cooking and serving seriously -- classic dishes well prepared without frou-frou or pretension.

Beaucoup d'avis favorables sur la qualité des plats : nous avons dû mal tomber. "Feuilleté de gambas" = (petites) crevettes dans un feuilleté mou, comme s'il avait réchauffé au micro-onde; dos de cabillaud bien trop cuit, sauce guère savoureuse. Rien de vraiment mauvais, mais très ordinaire, ne justifiant pas le prix du menu à 39€. Dommage, le décor étant plaisant.
