We spent 4 nights here over May half term after my 8 y.o. wanted to stay in 'a real chateau'. On arrival, we were offered an upgrade to one of the wooden cabins, which some may prefer, but we turned it down to stay in the main building. The suite we stayed in had real charm and character- high ceilings, chandeliers, ornate walls and furniture and a four poster bed. The restaurant is only open for breakfast, which offered slim pickings for vegetarians but figured fresh juice and decent coffee (albeit from a machine). Front office is only staffed until 10 pm and the staff were a bit hit and miss, although Manon and Zak were brilliant. The pool (only open during summer) was tidy and, whilst unheated, was perfectly useable at the end of May. The hotel grounds are immaculately maintained and has some interesting 'wildlife' such as a herd of resident sheep and a couple of wallabies.

The location is out in the sticks but very convenient for Puy Du Fou if that's what brings you to this corner of France. There are not many places to eat within a 5 mile radius except for the Le Petite Auberge and a Panini Place (you will spot it on route to Le Petite Auberge)which strangely finds no mention on Google Maps. Dominos and a few others places in Les Herbies will however deliver through Deliveroo.

All said, despite some initial hiccups, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return in the future.

Pas de clim pas de frigo a fuir !affiche 5 étoiles en plus Séjournez plutôt au relais ,moins cher mais cuisine avec tout frigo etc et clim !

Séjour très agréable dans un cadre hydillique. Chambres tout confort, personnel accueillant et professionnel. A recommander.

Excellent emplacement (joli parc, proximité du Puy du Fou). Aspect vieillot avec des taches sur les fauteuils. Pas de restaurant, ni service en chambre.
