Ho chiesto un ventilatore, dato che faceva molo caldo, e mi è stato rapidamente portato della reception. Bene!
Al mio arrivo ho scoperto che c'era un evento programmato proprio durante la mia permanenza, ma nessuno mi ha avvisato.
Sono stato molto fortunato in quanto sono arrivato proprio mentre stavano chiudendo gli accessi ed ho potuto parcheggiare nella struttura (con un supplemento modico) altrimenti sarebbe stato un problema.
Suggerisco all'organizzazione di essere maggiormente proattiva con la clientela, soprattutto quella che proviene dall'estero, in questi casi.

                             Abysmal Stay – Do Not Recommend
Our experience at this hotel was absolutely dreadful from start to finish. Upon arrival, we were forced to wait an unacceptable 30 minutes for our room to be cleaned, a frustrating start to any stay.
Once finally checked in, we were directed to a building that looked nothing like a hotel – it was clearly a student loft complex. Inside, the atmosphere was grim, everything felt sticky, and the elevator emitted an unsettling noise. To our shock, the "room" we were assigned was a student dorm, bearing no resemblance whatsoever to the images advertised on Booking.com for what was a relatively expensive booking. The room reeked of urine, feces, and vomit, and the toilet was visibly unclean, containing leftover residue. To add insult to injury, the bed was tiny, a detail only mentioned in the fine print and not in the main description. Under Dutch law, this clearly constitutes false advertising.
We immediately went back down to reception to request a room change. The woman at the front desk seemed visibly frustrated and was far from friendly. She allowed us to switch rooms but insisted we pack all our belongings first and explicitly forbade us from taking any photos. The alternative room they offered also looked nothing like the Booking.com photos, was clearly outdated, and again featured a small bed. At this point, we requested a refund, which was denied.
Left with no other option, we decided to cut our losses and go home. To make matters worse, as we were leaving, the same staff member refused to let us use the elevator with our luggage, despite my mother having a disability. This was truly disgraceful.
I deeply regret not paying more attention to the numerous negative reviews from other guests; it seems they were all accurate.
I am currently in contact with my bank to try and force a refund and have also reached out to Booking.com. Booking.com has sided with us, acknowledging the validity of our complaint. However, since the hotel processes payments directly, Booking.com is unable to issue a refund themselves.
Furthermore, I am seeking legal advice from the Juridisch Loket (Dutch Legal Aid Centre) with the intention of pursuing legal action in small claims court if the issue cannot be resolved through my bank.
In summary, our stay was plagued by a multitude of unacceptable issues:
* Excessive wait time for room despite prior booking.
* Misleading accommodation – a student dorm not a hotel room.
* Filthy conditions: strong odors of bodily waste (urine, feces, vomit) and an unclean toilet.
* Tiny bed not adequately disclosed in the main description.
* No air conditioning, leading to a stuffy and humid environment.
* Generally poor cleaning standards throughout the room.
* Unprofessional and unhelpful staff, particularly regarding a disabled guest's needs.
* Refusal of refund despite gross misrepresentation and uninhabitable conditions.
This hotel is a prime example of false advertising and a complete disregard for guest comfort and basic hygiene.

Toujours une petite pointe d'humour, de gaieté de la part du réceptionniste et des serveurs, les dames plus "discrètes" mais néanmoins souriantes et bienveillantes. Nous reviendrons c'est certain.
