L'ADOURABLE AUBERGE

Bonjour, nous étions de passage ce mois d'aout pour passer un week end dans cette belle région. Nous avons apprécié notre moment, la mise à disposition d'un gite dans une auberge, c'est juste parfait pour avoir un peu d'autonomie et profiter des services de l'auberge. L'accueil est top et très sympathique, on s'est vraiment régalé à table. Et quel bonheur de pouvoir profiter de la grande piscine en cette saison de forte chaleur. Merci et bon courage à l'équipe pour cette saison.

We stayed in the Loft gîte for 3 nights as a family of 4, ahead of a friend’s wedding nearby. Whilst we were staying there, other friends of ours were also staying in a number of other rooms; also guests of the wedding.

The loft is a nice size and is well equipped however it’s not very well maintained and has several failings. Firstly, the air conditioning doesn’t work; not ideal in an August Canicule. The flooring is warped so there are large gaps and the main door doesn’t open properly. There is no door on the bathroom. The room is next to the cesspit and food waste bin so smells bad. The room was not serviced at all and was supplied with only half a toilet roll.

The hotel itself is not suitable for children that want to have fun. The pool area, whilst lovely and clean, is a quite zone (good luck keeping kids quiet in a pool) and we were asked to keep our children quiet on the patio of our own room (which is at the back of the establishment) at 8pm despite the fact that they were not being excessively noisy (we are conscious of it when they are).

Finally, when other friends arrived at the hotel from the UK, and came so say hello to us on our patio area, we were told we were not allowed more than 4 people on it and were asked to go elsewhere. We were not being obnoxious or having a party - just greeting people that have travelled several hundreds of KM to get there.

At this point you would think that the sensible thing to do from a guest services and business perspective is to invite your guests to come and have a drink in your bar, however we were in fact told it was closed and there was a jazz festival 30 minutes away that we could go to. The result of that was 14 people going elsewhere to spend their money ????????‍♂️

Maybe this is good for couples, but if you have any kids or interest in socialising, it’s not great. We didn’t feel welcome, and I’m sure we weren’t for whatever reason. It’s a shame because it’s not the Ritz, it’s a little gite in rural France. Business is surely limited.
