LA BARGUILLÈRE

Le hasard nous a conduit jusqu'à La Barguillère. Quelle belle découverte ! Le lieu est atypique et confortable. Calme et vivant en même temps. L'accueil véritablement chaleureux et la cuisine faite maison un régal ! Merci aussi Anne pour le colis ;)

Let me start by saying that while I often want to write reviews I rarely do. However in this case i felt compelled to write about our experience.
My wife and I stayed at this Auberge this May. Being totally honest, I wanted to stay in Foix and be walking distance from the city. My wife had a feeling about this place and convinced me to drive up to see it so i went along fully intending to shut it down and return to Foix.
When we arrived I quickly found three strikes - a bit quirky; too far from Foix; and no shower. However, my wife persisted and we ended up agreeing to spend the night to my chagrin.
I started to realize just how wrong i was when i went down to dinner. I started to talk with Ann (the proprietor) and one of her lovely staff whose young son was also there. I was surrounded by real people who really cared and who were really interesting.
Bottom line is that we ended up spending three nights there, and i could have spent more. Ann was simply amazing. Her cooking was incredible and everything was made in-house. We had two dinners there (something we virtually never do) and her recommendations for other places were spot on. The breakfasts were perfect and i am still yearning for those amazing blueberry muffins although the homemade yogurt was a close second.
Maybe the best thing i can say is that the other guests had been coming back here for years. I totally understand why!
Oh, and by the way, i learned to live with the bath/shower combo and truth be told enjoyed it - by the way she does have rooms with showers.
We had two glorious days of cycling in the region and three amazing nights at a place that felt like home.
Please do yourself a favor and give this place a try. I guarantee you that Ann and her staff will make it worthwhile. If i ever go back to Foix, I know where i will be staying.

Un grand merci pour ce petit séjour pour le mariage, nous aurions aimé rester plus, je conseille à tout le monde de s'arrêter dans ce petit hôtel ou l'accueil est vraiment super, propreté, le petit déjeuner, tout est parfait..... Si vous aimez la gentillesse, le bon goût, la simplicité, l'excellente cuisine de Anne, l'hôte des lieux, une certaine ambiance jazzy, n'hésitez pas ????
Cet établissement est à l'image de mon ressenti en Ariège, une beauté, une écologie non urbaine, un paradis pour les randonneurs, les cyclistes, les kayakistes et autres amoureux du plein air !
Que du bonheur, j'y retournerai, c'est sûr ????

Un très bon accueil tout d'abord. Le dîner était réalisé à base de produits locaux et de qualité. Le service est parfait.
La chambre était grande et la literie de qualité.
Le petit déjeuner est composé également de produits fait maison (flanc, salade de fruit, cake, yaourt).
Pour finir , on retrouve ici une vrai auberge.
J'y reviendrai avec plaisir.
