Excellente expérience : le cadre bucolique, la vue, la cuisine ( il faut goûter le saumon fumé maison!) et le service sourire et chaleur humaine compris: rien à améliorer. Bon rapport qualité prix, quoiqu'en disent certains commentaires. (40€/personne en weekend, aperitif maison+entrée+plat+dessert+café et eau minérale) Je recommande.

We ate dinner in this charming rural restaurant in Villey-le-Sec, situated in a marvellous location overlooking the Moselle valley. There is only a small menu with meat and fish options, together with a selection of offal!. I had a rather bland dish of snails to start, while my wife had an excellent in-house smoked salmon, which we both followed with lamb in a filo pastry casing, which was tasty but a little curious. We washed the meal down with a very fine bottle of Vins de Pays d'Oc. We passed on desserts. Service from the two charming staff was prompt and efficient.
My one complaint about the place was the cost of the wine. While there was an interesting selection, there was there very little available under €40, even though the food is very reasonably priced. A couple of choices around the €30 mark would have been nice.
Overall this is a lovely place for a meal if you are in the area. Booking is essential - every table was full on our visit. Note that there is a scenic terrace where you can dine if the weather permits.
