Honestly, it was quite a disappointing experience. We sat on the terrace to have some drinks. Soon we were approached by the waiter who said something in French. We had to apologetically confess our inability to speak French (in English, which is not our native tongue either). It had no positive effect on the waiter, who continued questioning us in French a bit more forcefully. We managed to communicate our intention to only have drinks. The waiter had promptly removed everything from our table and went inside, where he had some energetic conversation with a barman pointing, at times, in our general direction. Then we were ignored for 5-7 minutes until the barman hesitantly left his post and, trying not to look in our direction, took the chalkboard with their wine prices and brought it over next to our table. Mumbling something like ‘s’il vous plâit’, he retired back to safety of the bar with a maximum possible speed. Our waiter meanwhile was serving all the tables that were maximally distant from ours. In all these proceedings, since the moment we’ve spoken English, we were treated by the staff as if we were some kind of hideously looking aliens, which they have to serve but would very much prefer not to. As a result, we decided not to try the patience of the patriotic staff of this venerable establishment any further and took refuge in a nearby international restaurant, where we felt orders of magnitude more welcomed.

Que ce soit pour dîner en famille ou boire un verre de vin en terrasse c'est le lieu idéal. J'y ai encore passé un merveilleux moment très bien conseillée pour un vin blanc et pu rencontrer l'équipe formidable et avenante qu'elle soit en cuisine ou au service. Encore merci et à très vite. Nadège
