Despite a slightly tense start with a longer-than-expected wait to be served, we ended up having a truly memorable experience at Amar Café. Initially, we just wanted a quick refreshment — some drinks and a dessert — but the dessert alone was enough to change our entire mood. Without exaggeration, it was one of the most delicious desserts we’ve ever had.
Although the day was particularly windy and we sat outside, it was still an enjoyable stay. We were so impressed by the dessert that we ended up ordering a main course — the tuna — and it was incredible. I normally don’t enjoy raw fish, but the tuna was raw in the center and yet so fresh, so well-prepared, I had no trouble eating every bite. No fishy taste at all — just perfection.
While the exterior seating area could be a little more refined — especially considering the exceptional level of the cuisine — it’s still a lovely and relaxed spot to linger, especially in good weather.
Unfortunately, the wind and fading light didn’t allow for good photos of the dishes, but trust me — you won’t want to miss the “chocolat poire et noix” or the tuna dish. Absolutely worth it.
We will definitely come back. I wholeheartedly recommend visiting Amar Café, especially on a calmer day when you can fully enjoy the gorgeous sunset views over the boats, the harbor, and the heart of Sète.
Mais pensez à prendre quelque chose pour vous couvrir, car il fait très froid à cause du vent sur la terrace.
La nourriture est excellente! Combinée à cette superbe vue, c’est un mélange parfait, nous avons passé une soirée merveilleuse.
Les serveurs sont très gentils, et les desserts aussi sont top!
