As we board the train, I am already missing Le Pierre Baumanière. We had the most amazing stay in room 26 in this hotel. The service is exceptional and the grounds make you feel as if time has stopped completely. It is so peaceful without the need of music as the whispers of cicadas serve as a constant rhythm for this special place. ||The town of Villeneuve-lès-Avignon where the hotel is located is very lovely and while only 10 minutes by bus to the city of Avignon we found ourselves opting to stay in the town for most of our time. We also are very glad we selected this hotel versus the other two 5 star located in city center of Avignon (Hotel La Mirande and Hotel d’Europe) because this felt more like a Michelin-starred sponsored retreat versus any other traditional 5 star located in a city. If you are toying between the three hotels, choose this one. ||The pool is massive and so refreshing and was one of the highlights. The gardens (there is a small but noticeable patch of beautiful lavender) were also magnificent and each evening the staff picks food from the garden for the tasting menu for that evening. The esteemed chef’s energy permeates through the property with the entire stay evoking feelings of a dream. ||Although we didn’t attend, the famous vineyard, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, is located only 30 minutes away by car. ||We also used the trails for running in the morning, which are located at the foot of the town. On the trails, you will walk by horses, locals, and sunflower fields. ||We were able to rely on public transportation the full week since we didn’t have a car, and the bus system was pretty easy to understand from the train station to town to the city of Avignon. Uber is also readily available in the region , which is a plus should you require it. ||The last time we stayed in Provence, we stayed at Crillon Le Brave, owned by the same hotel group that owns the famous Hotel De Crillon in Paris. This was also a great stay, but we preferred le pierre baumanière. The hotel is not only more ideally situated near Avignon, but also had a less pretentious feel with matched levels of sophistication at less of a cost. 10/10.

My wife and I loved this place. Charming, beautiful grounds. Warm, friendly service. We loved hanging out on the hotel grounds. Staff helped us carry bags every step of the way. Convenient parking. If I could offer the hotel one bit of of advice it would be to make the showers / tubs have a barrier (wall or curtain) so water doesn’t get all over the floor — which it can all too easily, even if you’re careful. Besides that — only good things to say. We wish we’d booked another night or 2 (we stayed 3).

Beautiful historic building with a garden in a cute old village near Avignon… but we were a little disappointed. ||1) From parking to the hotel is mostly gravels, and you must drag (or lift and carry) your suitcases on your own. They place something on gravels for the service staff’s trolleys – I wish they do that for the arriving/departing guests as well. 2) Reception was not at all friendly and communicated the bare minimum. When we asked him to call a restaurant and make a reservation, he called, but all he said was “not picking up.” Concierge/reception at a nice small hotel will usually offer to call again or suggest other restaurants. 3) Room was cute, but a bedside lamp was broken, and the view from the window was a tree with a dirty plastic bag tangled. Shower was the biggest problem – it’s small and the glass wall/door have gaps – water will be everywhere on the bathroom floor no matter how careful you shower. Large puddle after every shower, and we had to use a towel as barricade to stop the water from flowing outside the bathroom. 4) I loved the breakfast, and dinner at Le Prieure was very good, however, we’ve had much better experience at other one-star restaurants (or any other restaurants). An hors d’oeuvres described as “vegetables” provided to my vegetarian partner definitely had anchovy or some sort of fish on top… I know it’s difficult to accommodate vegetarian requests in France, but we expected a little more from a one-star restaurant. Not much explanations of the dishes (to be fair, we don’t speak French and servers had difficulty communicating in English), we were charged for something we didn’t order (they took it off the bill later), and bug bites all over me… at the end of the meal, we just thought “why did we decide to spend $400 for a dinner here??”||Most of these things are minor, but considering that this is a hotel with one Michelin Key and a restaurant with one Michelin Star, we expected better. We were in France for a total of 12 days and stayed at 6 hotels ranging from Best Western and Citizen M to 5-star hotels in Cote d’Azur and Paris… and Le Prieure was our least favorite in terms of room and overall hospitality.

Rien à redire : tout est parfait comme dans la majorité des Relais et Châteaux. La suite qui nous a accueilli est très bien pour une personne à mobilité réduite car sans escalier pour y accèder par l'extérieur. Le petit jardin, sa table extérieure et ses fauteuils sont uu vrai plus.

Un cadre exceptionnel pour une gastronomie exceptionnelle. Merci de votre bon accueil, une équipe très professionnelle et accueillante.

Accueil sommaire avec un personnel dépassé par l’arrivée d’un groupe de 4 personnes????.
Les bagagistes et les serveurs sont beaucoup plus agréables que les chefs de salle.
La suite junior était belle, mais mal insonorisée, et si on regarde de plus près , moisissures vers le lavabo et traces de calcaire sur le haut des toilettes.
Un 5 étoiles se doit d’être irréprochable.
Pour le restaurant, Nous avons l’habitude des grandes tables, pour nous un produit se doit d’être maîtrisé à l’état brut avant d’être sublimé.
Quelques soucis d’équilibre dans les plats.
Et le dessert aurait pu être servi comme entrée.
Aucune sensation agréable transmise durant ce repas…
Toutefois Le lieu et la bâtisse sont magnifiques.

Un bel endroit, tres bien situé dans le centre. Un jardin superbe, un parking securisé, et un personnel agreable. La chambre etait confortable . Le diner était excellent avec un personnel discret et efficace. Petit dejeuner copieux. Un bel endroit loin du tumulte d'Avignon.

Nous sommes venus pour une nuit avec un dîner au restaurant étoilé.
La chambre luxe vue sur piscine avec terrasse est magnifique et très agréable. L’accueil et le personnel est irréprochable que ce soit côté hôtel ou restaurant.
Concernant le dîner, le menu en 5 temps offre des associations surprenantes et mémorables que nous avons su apprécié tout au long de la soirée.
Le petit déjeuner est servi en buffet avec la possibilité de commander des œufs cuisinés de différentes façons selon vos préférences. Le buffet n’est pas gigantesque mais les produits proposés sont de très bonnes qualités et locaux.

The chef is amazing! We had dinner here and it is one of the best we have had since many years. Innovative and amazing flavours without making you feel too stuffed at the end of a meal. Loved it. Also very nice staff in the hotel and restaurant. If we are in the area again we will come back just to have dinner here again.

Des bonnes choses bien sûr pour une étoile (assiette, service) mais des lacunes : homard trop cuit, agneau trop cru. A noter le café : Nespresso à 6e . Service agréable. Jardin magnifique

Séjour hôtel + restaurant
Restaurant à la hauteur de son étoile. Équipe très sympathique et au petit soin. Une belle découverte pleine de surprises. Magnifique travail du chef avec une imagination débordante. Hôtel à taille humaine, où on se sent bien, sans les paillettes et le service guindé. Bref une très belle expérience !

Bien dans l ensemble, mais peu mieux faire dans les aménagements et autres pour un 5 étoiles.
Rien à redire sur la restauration, c'est excellent et le personnel est très agréable.
Adeptes des hôtels de luxe, je recommande quand même pour la dégustation de repas et si vous souhaitez être en centre ville pour découvrir ce beau petit village.

Restaurant gastronomique étoilé du guide Michelin, à environ 10 minutes en voiture du centre d’Avignon.
Repas pris à l’extérieur autour des arcades d’un ancien monastère, ambiance très romantique et hors du temps malgré une pie qui jacasse tous les soirs (assez amusant!)
Plats très raffinés et recherchés, un plaisir pour les papilles du début jusqu’à la fin du repas, aucune fausse note.
Bravo au chef talentueux, nous avons passé un excellent moment.

Presque chaque année de passage dans cet établissement très agréable, propre et avec un service attentionné.
Chambre très spacieuse où on se sent comme chez soit, restaurant très qualitatif et apprécié (sauf la patte du pigeon ????)

Visited with my husband this month. It was a wonderful stay. The staff were extremely helpful, especially with booking restaurants and giving guidance on the town. If you can, have dinner at the hotel restaurant. A wonderful experience. We were also upgraded on arrival. Will be back.

Superbe emplacement, personnel très agréable et restaurant chaleureux dans un lieu magique, le prieuré. Le dîner imaginé par le Chef Christophe Chiavola nous a très agréablement surpris par des associations poissons et agrumes, viande et wakamé totalement réussis. Enfin le dessert chocolat noir, caviar et glace au chocolat blanc nous a conquis. On reviendra à la belle saison !

Cuisine bistronomique le midi et gastronomique le soir .fin et raffiné et un service excellent . Un lieu calme en plein cœur de Villeneuve les Avignon..... rien à redire tout est parfait.

Venus en groupe pour travailler - au nom du CMIT et de son Président -, nous avons passé 3 jours merveilleux dans ce havre de paix, propre à la concertation nécessaire pour notre production littéraire & scientifique ; mais aussi au repos dans des chambres tellement spacieuses - plus grandes que les appartements de certains de mes collègues franciliens - et des parties communes, au charme suranné. |Le tout niché dans un petit village typique à quelques encablures du Palais des Papes.|Et que dire du personnel ? Un seul mot, extraordinaire ! A l’image de M. le Directeur FAVIER, côté cuisine, et de son épouse, côté hôtellerie. Des gens délicieux et tellement attentionnés. |On adore, on recommande chaleureusement !

N'étant de passage que pour une nuit. Nous avons passé un moment agréable et d'excellente qualité.||Le personnel est très souriant et professionnel. Merci

La chambre est spacieuse mais un peu vieillissante tout comme l’établissement. ||Bonne table, nous avons opté pour le menu découverte en 5 plats et nous n’avons pas été déçus. Petit bémol pour le service un peu désorganisé et le petit déjeuner sous la forme d’un buffet classique. ||L’emplacement et le parking privé sont appréciables.

This was our first trip to Provence and were extremely happy to have stayed here at |Le Prieure! Our room (#15) was beyond our expectations: very large with a balcony overlooking the beautiful gardens with large sycamore trees, a spacious bathroom, comfy pillows and quiet. All of the staff (sorry I do not recall their names), on every shift from the concierge to dinner to housekeeping were very helpful in every aspect of our stay. We only stayed four days but was the highlight of our 10 day France trip!

Un séjour plus qu'agréable au Prieuré dans un endroit si charmant où le calme règne... Un personnel aux petits soins, un décor épuré entre histoire et modernité, une très belle chambre avec beaucoup de confort, et une cuisine savoureuse... Le menu découverte en 5 temps nous a vraiment conquis ! Nous gardons une excellente expérience de ce séjour !

Superbe écrin en plein cœur de Villeneuve les Avignon. Le lieu est magnifique et le personnel aux petits soins. La ville en elle-même gagne à être visitée et la cité des Papes à 10mn en voiture est à faire absolument. Un week-end magnifique.

Excellente cuisine. Le cuisinier en place a un grand faible pour le terre et mer. J'ai adoré. Le premier qui a réussi à me faire manger une huître. Un succès total ! A recommander vivement.

Très bel hôtel dans un cadre magnifique mais notre chambre mal agencée et avec une salle de bain vétuste ne justifiait pas son prix, Par contre le restaurant est d'un très bon niveau

Service was good and location is beautiful and will be exceptional once the construction next door is done. Rooms and hotel would have a great charm if they (1) actually stuck the landing with the furnishings and (2) made sure things were in good condition so the styling felt intentional rather than just old. (Instead of keeping the vintage vibe going throughout, rooms have random office style furniture as lounging chairs and a desk that look like they grabbed them from IKEA. The toilet in our room was broken and required careful jiggling to make sure it would stop running.) Forgivable at a budget hotel. Not so much at a higher price point.
