Fascinating shrine to French history. Beautiful and thought-provoking. Do take advantage of the printed guides, as they will help you to understand what you're looking at, and why the Basilica is arranged as it is. In the winter, expect it to be as cold inside as it is outside, and dress accordingly. Too many visitors skip St-Denis, and that's a shame.

Really cool place if you’re into history. The Cathedral is beautiful and the Crypt with all the previous kings of France is equally fascinating. Highly recommend visiting!
