DISNEY HOTEL NEW YORK - THE ART OF MARVEL ^{* * * *}

Hôtel 4 étoiles plus que méritées, un buffet déjeuner au large choix et tellement savoureux, partout un personnel charmant et souriant, une propreté rarement égalée !

Considering the cost, this hotel isn't that bad. Especially compared to the much more expensive main Disneyland hotel. I've stayed at plenty of Disney hotels and know the economy variety are not for me, not that they are bad, I just don't want that kind of experience, and the NY hotel is literally next to the park and the Disney village and the train station.||The hotel itself is pretty average, it is definitely lacking Disney magic that I have come to expect from the US parks and hotels - it just feels like a regular non-Disney hotel with Mavel items in the lobby and two pieces of art in the room. ||The room itself is nice, however Disney's classification scheme of "superior' for the basic room is nothing short of misleading. The view of the 'superior" room is the roof of a building, but I knew that before getting here, so it wasn't really a surprise. The room itself is well appointed, plenty of outlets, even two USB ports. The bathroom is nice, despite the bathtub has a ridiculously tall side-wall that is difficult to enter the tub. There is a lack of storage in the room, you get roughly 5 small drawers, and plenty of hanging space though.||The Lavazza espresso coffee machine was great, and truly surprising to see.||However, all the nice things said, I am truly stunned at how poor of craftsmanship the flooring in the room is. There are many 10-15mm gaps everywhere. Normally when you install wood flooring or laminate, you have the short ends at the wall, under the footboard. No - not here. The short ends are totally exposed throughout the room. It's truly ugly and makes no sense. It's like they had the interns putting the flooring in unsupervised and nobody from Disney even inspected it. And to make it worse, if you step on the gap, there's a small metal bar that digs into your feet. I've never stayed in a hotel room that had such poor flooring installation - ever - Disney or not, this is a first. And to find this in a Disney 4 star hotel is beyond belief - it is so disappointing, I've complained to Disney and I'm mentioning it here.
