But the most important feature of this dinner is that we had a full 4-course French dinner including a bottle of decent burgandy wine for 57 euros. Call it what you will but you can't replicate that anywhere else.
The service (for this branch) is extremely efficient, but could work harder to be kinder, more sensitive: After three years living around France, first time did I experience being asked "are you finished?" just as I was about to literally put my food into my mouth. I would simply attribute it to the server being overworked, pressured by management to turn over tables quickly and be operationally efficient in their work, but this is not an excuse to make diners feel rushed and not welcome. But the Bouillion Chartier franchise is one that I have enjoyed in the city, especially the Gare d l'Est branch. Recommended--but think twice which branch you will patronize.
