Armagnac Castarède is a must visit for anyone who has even the slightest interest or appreciation for this amazing spirit. This place is like a library of armagnacs. The staff is exceptionally helpful, knowledgeable, and passionate about their variety of armagnacs that have age statements as far back as 1960! We were able to sample many different bottles while learning about the history and nuances that go into the art of making this spirit- the experience felt more like we were family who were welcomed into the living room for an engaging conversation of learning and laughter. Come here to learn and sample the different bottles like VSOP, XO, and even single barrel or a special blend for cigar smokers that will stand up and blend exceptionally with your favorite brand and vitola- you’ll certainly have something in your cellar that likely no one has heard about, experienced, and will fall in love with. Best yet, you’ll be able to share this spirit’s wonderful flavor, taste, aroma, and history with connoisseurs who will be asking where this has been all their lives. It’s not everyday you can get a bottle of spirits that is older than you and get it for a reasonable price. Seriously- check this place out- super accessible from the Metro 13.
