Chapon is such a charming French chocolate store. I was pulled in here by the charming storefront & window display. Their hand painted chocolate animals made the perfect gift for my loved one.

We had the 100% chocolate mousse and possibly the best mousse au chocolat we’ve eaten. Ever. Staff helpful and some seats outside to enjoy the mousse.

My mom and I spent some time trying to find this shop after we visited a museum nearby and saw that it wasn’t too far away (I had added it to our list of places to visit in Paris as I had seen this place all over Instagram with tons of people raving about the quality of the chocolate mousse). I’m not sure if the two employees were simply tired after a long day but they didn’t give off a friendly or welcoming vibe at all. One of them was a bit nicer but the other was dismissive and seemed really annoyed when I asked questions about their selection. I’ve worked in customer service and when prospective customers walk into your shop, you’re supposed to make them feel comfortable enough to ask questions about your product. This isn’t a matter of not understanding the oftentimes standoffish French attitude because I’m French too! ???? But the vibe was just super strange and my mom and I felt like a hindrance which is not how you do business. Anyhow, the chocolate mousse was super overrated too and made me confused about all the Instagram hype. I preferred the chocolate mousse from the grocery store ????‍♀️ Nothing special, don’t waste your time.

Very tiny shop with lots of yummy chocolate! The mouse was very good and so was the chocolate. However, the lady working there gave the few customers who order mouse ahead of me a taste of the different mouses before settling on one. I asked to try one since it was the only one without milk and she said that it was "too busy to try them". There were the same amount of people in when she let others try so that was frustrating. My friend got something but she missed out on a sale since I didn't want to buy the mouse without trying it first.

We waited for a short line tp get the chocolate mousse. It was very delicious and worth to try. Also it is important to know that the dessert is intense. The staff was not very cheerful and didnt want to help when we asked the kinds and wanted to taste before order. They have cone size and it was enough for take away. Anyway it is a good choice in Paris????

Un accueil très chaleureux où le responsable a pris le temps de nous expliquer tous les parfums de mousses au chocolat. Nous avons opté pour le « Madagascar » avec ses notes fruitées, un peu trop présentes à mon goût vu l’acidité et l’amertume. Cependant la texture était incroyable, un vrai délice. Hâte de goûter les autres parfums !! ☺️

very small store. my husband went in by himself while I was outside with our toddler in the stroller. the chocolate mousse has a dark chocolate taste. Definitely worth trying!

Dissappointing. We travelled a long way to try the chocolate mousse and although it was a cute place all of the choices were too rich for us. We were hoping for a milk chocolate or white chocolate mousse but they only have 75%+. Avoid with kids, it is too dark for them (sadly)

Agréable surprise que la découverte de la chocolaterie Chapon rue du Bac! Charmante petite boutique à l univers félin et aux produits authentiques... je suis accueillie chaleureusement par l hôte des lieux Amine qui me fait découvrir mousses au chocolat et tablettes de différentes intensités.
Mention spéciale à la mousse chocolat équateur 75%, qui a le mérite d être proposée au format familial et au professionnalisme et à l accueil serviable d'Amine!!

Ah les mousses au chocolat de chez Chapon... Une institution !!! Il est même difficile de choisir entre les 5 goûts disponibles, mais pour ramener un dessert lorsque l'on est invité, il n'y a rien de mieux !!!
