HOTEL DES 2 CONTINENTS

Wonderful little hotel in the St Germain neighborhood. It's close to a bunch of streetside restaurants for breakfast lunch and dinner, and a Boulongerie de Paris and a market are down the street as well. Room is smallish, as is typical for the area, but was comfortable enough. Located near stops for Metro lines. Staff is friendly and was more than happy to share their local food recommendations. Overall had a nice experience here and would book with them again.

Hotel sans réel hall d'entrée, devant un trottoir qui sert de dépotoir... Chambre toute petite, moquette desuette, lit en 140, salle de bain minuscule et abîmée.. en aucun cas ne ressemble aux photos du site officiel... Tellement déçue..

If you’re hesitant to stay here, it’s worry for nothing. We love this hotel and the staff. It’s a small family owned hotel. Every one of the desk clerks we’ve encountered were very efficient and friendly, they are making our stay a happy one. Currently undergoing renovation so the area where you’d have breakfast is closed for now, however, your breakfast is delivered to you from the hotel next door. Breakfast was plenty of fresh breads made in the morning, served hot, meats and fruit, along with delicious yogurt and scrambled eggs. Coffee and juice. We had so much food that we made sandwiches out of the bread and used them for our picnic lunch by the river today. Breakfast charge was $15 pp, however, we still have leftovers for breakfast tomorrow morning. So, a great deal. There is an elevator (lift), that is small. My sister and I and our 2 roller bags along with other smaller bags fit very well, but that’s all we needed too. Our room is a nice size for an authentic European hotel. The bed is very comfortable, and the linens are crisp and clean. The bathroom is a good size as well. There is a hair dryer, hot water kettle and a coffee maker. There is no microwave or small refrigerator, but I think that’s an American thing. There is an a/c unit on the wall but we’ve not needed to use it. The area we are in is one of the safest neighborhoods in Paris (or so we’ve been told) and we believe that, as we’ve walked up and down and around this neighborhood and never felt threatened, just a real pleasure. There are numerous cafe’s within the block with great service, foods and where you can enjoy sitting outside on the sidewalk while enjoying your break from touring. The Louve, Notre Dame are within 15-20 min walk and we walked to the Eiffel Tower this morning (maybe 2 miles). We did take a private car in from the airport as we did not wish to challenge our skills in finding this place by subway. So, hope this review helps you decide where to stay, we’d stay here again any time…
