Le restaurant traditionnel Polidor est une véritable institution parisienne, proche du théâtre de l'Odéon. Il propose le meilleur de la cuisine française avec des plats et des desserts typiques, comme le boeuf bourguignon ou la tarte tatin, le tout fait maison. Lieu de prédilection de Verlaine, Rimbaud ou Hemingway, théâtre des Assemblées des Optimates du Collège de Pataphysique, le restaurant Polidor a connu une histoire singulière depuis son ouverture en 1845. Il est considéré aujourd’hui comme l’un des plus vieux « bistrots » de Paris.

Le Polidor n’est pas simplement un restaurant – c’est un morceau d’histoire vivante. Dès qu’on franchit le seuil, on a l’impression de remonter le temps. L’intérieur nostalgique, les tables en bois partagées et l’atmosphère charmante, empreinte de souvenirs, rendent la visite vraiment unique.
Et la cuisine ? Authentiquement française, simple et sincère, sans fioritures inutiles. J’ai goûté le bœuf bourguignon – tendre, parfumé, parfaitement assaisonné. Les desserts, notamment le crème caramel, étaient tout simplement délicieux.
Le service était aimable, discret et d’une agréable simplicité – parfaitement en accord avec ce lieu chargé d’histoire. Ce qui m’a particulièrement touché : on sent encore ici l’esprit des vieux écrivains qui fréquentaient autrefois l’endroit.
Si vous souhaitez découvrir le vrai Paris – avec son cœur, son histoire et son âme – le Polidor est une adresse incontournable. Une expérience inoubliable !

We went as a walk-in to the restaurant arriving early at 18:30, to find out by a very rude older lady that it opens at 19:00, a younger waiter that speaks English inform us that if we return at 19:00 they will seat us at a table on the big salon. So we walked around the neighborhood to be back exactly at 18:57hrs. The older lady complains loudly (in french) again about us to a waiter, and sends us to waiting spot. Then waiter shows up and inform us that there will not have tables at 19:00, nor 20:00. That whoever gave us the 19:00 hour time was wrong.
Icing of the cake: In the background we see the lady getting a funnel and emptying two half used glasses of wine back to the bottle.
I don't care if the place is where Churchill ate, or if the parliament has bachelor parties on the dinning room.. If the owner is recycling wine at the bar? The kitchen is no better.
We stood up, and never coming back.
