Hidden gem just a block beyond the tourist crowded spots on St. Germain Blvd. Cozy so you can watch the chef create the meal. Inventive presentation of fresh ingredients. The reviews mention Chef Joseph. We were there for lunch and it was a woman chef who was awesome.

Wat een geluk dat we hier naar binnen zijn gegaan, we proberen de toerist trips te vermijden. Dat is gelukt!
L’Epidon is een soort huiskamer restaurant, maar toch wel 30 couverts. Als het helemaal vol zit , weet ik eigenlijk niet hoe ze dit klaar spelen. De chef kookt achter de bar . Het is persoonlijk en vers , vis en vlees op het dagmenu. Nog geen vegetarische gerechten, maar ik weet bijna zeker dat hij deze op verzoek zonder probleem voor je maakt . Prima naar ons zin gehad hier. Normaliter zouden wij niet en een voorgerecht, hoofdgerecht en toetje nemen, maar hier wel . Alles even smaakvol. Duidelijk iemand die eer uit zijn werk haalt . Heerlijke wijn ook . Zeer aan te bevelen.

C'est le genre de cuisine que j'adore de beaux produits bien cuisinés et l'interaction directe avec le cuisinier! La salle très petite avec une cuisine ouverte qui nous rappelle pourqoi on est la. Le service étair au petit soin avec de jolies intentions. Merci pour ce joli moment :).

Ambiance agréable et lieu atypique.
On pense manger une cuisine familiale et généreuse au vu du cadre. Malheureusement une fois l'assiette servie on constate la maigre portion dans une présentation " gastronomique". Sauf que la qualité n'est pas vraiment au rendez-vous. Les aliments sont assez peu travaillés et on reste sur notre faim.
Même chose pour le vin ou les verres servis sont loin des 12cl annoncés.

Fantastique meal. So much attention to every detail. The dishes were beautiful and the taste fresh and on point. The chef clearly takes a lot of pride in the food. He visited every table. Totally exceeded my expectations in every way. Don’t walk, run to eat at L’Epidon.

Restaurant de qualité, familial, très fréquenté par des habitués (nous en faisons partie depuis des années). Que du frais, cuisiné en temps réel. Une adresse pour un moment de détente, une pause agréable lors d'une journée du côté d'Odéon et de Saint-Germain.

Une expérience mitigée... Si on sent la volonté du chef d'être créatif, cela n'est pas vraiment au service de la qualité car l'exécution n'est pas des plus réussies, une cuisine plus simple serait certainement plus efficace.
Les plats restent corrects et si les restaurateurs n'y peuvent pas grande chose, la proximité de la cuisine avec la salle n'en fait pas un lieu très accueillant car les odeurs de nourriture sont très présentes.

It is a charming little place away from the crowds where you will feel at home with a hard working dedicated chef you can see hard at work. It's obviously a labor of love and you can feel it. A truly original experience that will make you fall in love with Paris all over again.

Had lunch in this lovely restaurant twice during my stay in a nearby hotel in Paris. What a lovely intimate restaurant with the freshest and most delicious food. Delightful service and all at a very reasonable price. Most highly recommended.

A wonderful dining experience! My wife and I happened upon L’Epidon just wondering the streets of Paris. The exterior invited us and we were so glad we did. We both had the grilled sirloin beef on mashed potato with pepper sauce. It was excellent and surprising and just what you’d expect from a French restaurant. We both had crème brûlée and espresso for dessert. Amazingly good! All of the staff were so friendly and patient with my bad French. We thanked them profusely for providing the best “birthday in Paris” experience!

L’Epidon is a little gem of a place! It is located in an area that offers expensive food that is generally inferior to that which is offered in this clean, comfortable and friendly restaurant. Josef, the proprietor, greets you and immediately makes you feel at home before he enters his small open kitchen where he works his magic.
Josef is the sole chef; he both cooks and, along with a staff of one, waits on tables when he can. He is a culinary artist, who turns out dishes that look like modern works of art in their color and composition (think: a mix of Mondrian and Klee). His canvas is the plate upon which he composes, with fresh and organic food, culinary delights that provoke one’s sight, smell, and taste.
I go to l’Epidon whenever I am in Paris and always find myself torn between the aesthetic appreciation of the art before me and my desire to dig into the food and taste from a selection of organic wines. In the end, I dig in.
But words fail to express my wonder at this little jewel of a place. It is a wonder shared by other guests, whose appreciation of Josef’s culinary and artistic feats is a conversation starter and way of introduction. I have made several friends, both foreign and French, whom I see whenever I am in Paris. Our regular meeting place: L’Epidon. Our order of business: to enjoy L’Epidon’s colorful and fresh food and each other.

Un joli restaurant ou on se sent tout de suite bien. L'accueille est très agréable. Le repas était délicieux et copieux. La présentation des assiettes s'apparente à une œuvre d'art.
Le vin un délice.
Et le chef a de très bons conseils pour aider á faire son choix tant ont aurait envie de tout essayer.
Je recommande vivement ce lieu charmant qui nous a fait voyager hors du temps ordinaire.

Une véritable surprise!
Un restaurant avec une décoration épurée et un accès à la cuisine. Des plats qui sont préparés avec des produits achetés le jour même ce qui garantit une qualité et une variété du menu. Que dire du cuisinier qui sert des assiettes avec un très beau visuel et des saveurs incroyables.
