HÔTEL TURENNE LE MARAIS ^{* * *}

The front desk always very pleasant and helpful; the room was good-sized by Paris standards and had a desk with chair; housekeeping was good and respected our hours. Cold water dispenser in the lobby, and a large bottle provided to use with it.

We spent two nights in this little hotel one block from Place De Vosges, Paris, Fr, in April 2025. It is a a midrange priced hotel but the location was excellent for this trip. We usually stay in the Montparnasse area but wanted a place by La Marais and this worked quite well. Typically small rooms with en-suite, and an elevator that was fine for two. Recently updated , small bathroom. Breakfast extra in a nice ground floor area. On a narrow street but traffic wasn’t noisy, just one group partying outside across the street. Hard to be upset with people just enjoying friends! Staff spoke excellent English and were helpful when we had questions.

This small hotel is in a brilliant location to explore Paris. While the rooms are small (bit like New York) the bed is very comfy and if you're looking for somewhere central for your few days in Paris this is it.||Location - we flew into CDG and got the train into the city. Got off the train at Chatalet and walked the last 1.5km as the weather was fab and wanted to get a sense for where we were. Alternatively you could swap to the Metro at Chatalet and take it to St Paul 2 stops away (we did this on the way home) - the St Paul station is a few minutes walk from the hotel as is the Bastille stop so loads of Metro options if you wish. We walked to most of the tourist sites - Notre Dame 1.5km away, Louvre 2km, Champs Elysee 5km but the views are so great it really doesn't feel like it. The Eifel Tower is 5km away too - all within walking or 20 min Metro trip. ||Room - small as mentioned but a great sleep. Very clean and tidy.||Reception - check in very efficient and lovely lady was very helpful recommending local eats.||Breakfast a bit "meh" - coffee and a croissant or baguette. Book room only and get breakfast in one of the local bakeries instead. Also only one table in the place which could sit more than 2 people which was a bit mad. Staff at breakfast could be a bit "huffy" - one guest asked for the eggs to be refilled and was argued with, the same staff member huffed when I told them the coffee machine needed attention but this didn't spoil anything.||Street could be noisy at night but its a city centre so to be expected, ||We stayed in Paris years ago in a Best Western outside of town - this hotel made the Paris experience completely different and I couldn't recommend it highly enough for 3 or 4 nights in Paris.

The hotel was well located in the Marais district, with lots of bakeries and shops nearby. It was an easy walk or metro to almost everywhere. Our room was nice, with a full queen size bed that we were able to share comfortably. We didn't use the hotel breakfast, as it was pricy relative to the nearby bakeries.
