I used to love going to Frog Revolution with colleagues after work. I went today with friends to watch Australia vs Scotland in the Autumn Nations rugby. After a bad experience of a rugby match at another Frog bar two weeks earlier where they refused to put the sound on for 30 minutes I made sure to check that Frog Revolution were showing this particular match. Clearly the server had no idea about the fact that the Frog’s website stated that they were showing the match but said he could put it on. When my friends arrived and I asked the server if he could put on the match he refused saying it wasn’t yet kick off and patronizingly assured me that a match wouldn’t start before the scheduled time. One goes to watch a match at a bar for the ambiance and the pre-match build up is an important part of this. As it turned out, the bar was almost completely empty so I don’t see how it would have hurt to be accommodating and let us watch for 20 minutes before the kickoff. The service otherwise was terrible and the server’s bad attitude continued throughout. I can completely understand that a bar might not want to show sporting matches but it’s pretty simple: if you don’t want to show a match don’t advertise it on your website. That’s it for me and the Frog I’m afraid, I won’t be coming back.
