Gorgeous boutique hotel.

The staff and hotel were excellent. We couldn’t have picked a better location— more Paris than tourist! Lovely historic hotel ! The staff were genuinely warm and friendly! Will definitely be back!

Found this hotel through AmEx Platinum’s travel services and we typically have great experiences with properties they endorse — so we were excited about this stay. Sadly, after this experience, we may have to be a bit more discerning about the properties from service level — a quick review of Google reviews reveals others have had similar subpar service experiences.

The location is wonderful— easy to get around by foot or public transport.
The courtyard is quaint and inviting — love the plants. The lobby, especially the reading/dining room to the right, is lovely.

But based on our experience, I suggest you don’t walk any further beyond the lobby, because the property seems ill equipped to help guests or even care for basic customer service needs. From the moment we arrived — later in the evening from a train — it felt as though we were inconveniencing the team for even arriving. We tried to provide grace as the city was fresh off the Olympics — and gearing up for the Para Olympics, but this was beyond fatigue; it felt more last dismissal.

Upon checking in, we were told our room was “upgraded” — and based on that, I can only imagine what a regular room would have been. The bathroom was truly almost as large as the bed chamber. The aesthetic was fine (I don’t know that I agree with comments that the room was dated) but the overall accommodation was underwhelming.

The team servicing the rooms was quite lovely and the amenities offered through the rooms were average. There is an in-room Nespresso machine, which was nice since the team in the lobby seemed slow to care for a visitor’s request for coffee.

As a general experience, we were also chided for being in the courtyard late — something we heard from other guests is common critique of guests from the night team. If there are going to be evening quiet hours those should be posted — of the 3 tables outside none of us were loud or creating commotion, but we were corrected just the same.

Bottom line: there are a lot of social hotels to visit in Paris — for as nice as historic and lovely as this property is, sadly, because of our experience with members of this property’s team, we felt unwelcome and happy to leave.

Ce lieu est véritablement exceptionnel. La chambre est d’un confort incroyable, les oreillers sont si moelleux qu’ils fondent sous votre tête. Rien que pour cette expérience, il faut visiter cet hôtel, où l’on revient juste pour vérifier que rien n’a changé. Le personnel est d’une gentillesse extrême, ils ont toujours le sourire et font tout pour que votre séjour reste inoubliable. Nous reviendrons, c’est sûr. Merci.
P.S.: je vous laisse la surprise du petit déjeuner, si vous venez un jour. Personnellement, c’est le meilleur que j’ai jamais fait, mais vous jugerez pas vous même.

This hotel is amazing. Stunning location, beautiful rooms and the service is outstanding. It feels like a secret enclave that you feel lucky to know about. This hotel is a perfect expression of Paris and look forward to staying here next time.
