We stopped for two beers and a quick lunch. The waiter looked mildly appalled by our existence but realised, eventually, that serving us was the quickest way out. The food was actually pretty good—better than it needs to be for a tourist spot that could serve dog food and still fill tables.
The real draw is people-watching. All human life passes through here: chic Parisians, dazed tourists, a child in sequins, someone definitely having a dramatic breakup. A small bird pecked at my bread, and I was quietly delighted.

Un très mauvais service ainsi que l'un de ces serveurs. Serveur impoli. De plus, nous avons demandé à être servis trois fois, mais il n'a pas répondu. Croyez-moi, nous avons quitté le café sans même avoir un verre d'eau.
