Une dame au standard est très désagréable, on dirait qu’on l’a forcée à venir travailler là. Si elle n’aime pas son métier, elle devrait envisager d’en changer. Elle est vraiment peu aimable, ne donne pas les renseignements demandés et raccroche au nez. Heureusement, il y a une autre dame, un peu plus âgée, qui, elle, est très gentille.

As a Sri Lankan resident in Portugal, I visited the Sri Lankan Embassy in Paris on December 18, 2024, to renew my passport, as there is no Sri Lankan embassy in Portugal.

I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service provided by the embassy staff in attending to the needs of the Sri Lankan diaspora. In particular, Ms. Himali Rathnaweera, who was leading the team, was doing a remarkable job and with her multilingual skills, she communicated fluently in Sinhala, Tamil, and English, ensuring that every visitor was taken care of. All staff members attending to the visitors including Ms Shana were efficient and polite, even in this stressful busy environment. I truly appreciate their hard work and dedication.

Thank you for your outstanding support. Hats off to Ms Himali and all staff at the Sri Lankan Embassy in Paris.

I think Sri Lankans living in France can have hope for the French Embassy. I was also disappointed with what happened recently. However, there is a better situation now. Mrs. Himali Ratnaweera... I think you deserve that honor.

We sri Lankan basically spek our native language sinhalees. But whenever you call them its in French language which we don't understand and no option to change for sinhala enable us to clear the message but we end up with NO information what we required.
Some of the information not available on website for which you have to call them to get it cleared.

Malgré les avis ici, je trouve qu'ils sont à l'écoute, très compréhensif et gentil.
Je n'ai jamais eu de problème au téléphone non plus, les agents expliquent bien les choses et ils sont polis.

Thieves... be careful our honest leader ADK has taken charge of our country. You get the salaire from our pay receipt. But when we come for your service you chase us away like some stray dog... when asked a question you bark like a dog... you are rude... who gave you this post?
When contacted for some queries the phone is never answered and sometimes they are answered but only told to come in person. they behave as if they have a crown on their head.
Renewing a passport means waiting for years and paying huge sums of money to your brokers. Passport is here within ten days of payment. All crooks will be punished soon by our honest president

I would like to express my gratitude for the outstanding service provided by the consular officers at the Sri Lankan Embassy in France. It was such a relief to receive their support during a distressing time. My passport was unfortunately stolen in Barcelona, and despite the absence of a Sri Lankan consulate in Spain, the consular officers in Paris guided me through the process of obtaining an emergency passport and explained the required documents. Once I submitted the documents, the emergency travel document was promptly issued and couriered to Madrid. The officers kept me updated at every stage, even over the weekend. Emails were answered promptly, and calls to the consular division were extremely helpful. Thank you once again for your excellent service.

Un service déplorable !
Une femme qui répond au téléphone qui vous engueule à la moindre question qui la dérange et qui vous raccroche au nez.
Aucun suivi de dossier et des frais administratifs encaissés en espèces...
Pas de remboursement si les promesses ne sont pas tenues.
Un responsable qui ne parle pas français ni tamoul.
Mais que fait l'ambassadrice du Sri Lanka ? C'est une honte !

Submit passport renewal still waiting 11 months gone, now getting news i will only get if i pay 500 to agent in embassy and then Will get in 10 days , I’m living legally here but currently unemployed and going through hard time ,
I pray god help and please don’t play with passports which is the most important document Sri Lankans living out of country . Kindly do something,

Worst administrative office ever and made me hate my own countrymen by these fellow Sri Lankans with the unhelpful mean and disrespectful behavior of the staff. In google they says open till 17hr but they are already closing the embassy at13 he. They never answer the phone when calling and when answer very impolite and doesn’t give information correctly. Made me loose a whole day after traveling 500km by saying they need my physical presence there something they said I could have done through emails. Foreign ministry please fire these unworthy people and give those jobs to people who really want to work. If they are like this with their own country people imagine they might be shaming us with French people. It’s a rude country with rude people

J'ai demandé mon passeport l'année dernière, le mois de mai, mais toujours aucune réponse. Je pense qu'ils s'attendent à ce que l'argent arrive rapidement, nous voulons ignorer ce service national.

J’ai fais ma demande de renouvellement de passeport au mois de juillet 2023 on est en mars 2024, toujours rien sur mon renouvellement de passeport, impossible pour moi de voyager, j’essaie de les joindre depuis pas de réponse. Alors que mon frère avec qui j’ai fais la demande aussi, a reçu son passeport. De plus quand je suis allé faire ma demande il y avait une dame très remonté qui criait au scandale car ils avaient perdu son dossier et qu’elle devait encore et encore payer… je sais pas si je suis en train de vivre la même chose mais je vais pas que crier au scandale…
Ps: de un la règle qu’il faut absolument le père pour les mineurs alors qu’on est dans un pays qui réclame l’égalité des sexes c’est honteux. De plus imaginez le père est absent, pas en France ou tout simplement mort, à moins qu’ils le réanime…
Ps2: pas un agent qui parle tamoul c’est grave quand même bon okay pour le tamoul mais le FRANÇAIS ? On est en France à ce que je sache… vraiment changer les agents de cette ambassade car en plus ils prennent de haut les gens avec leurs commentaires à deux balles.

Demande de renouvellement de passeport fait en juillet, une réponse par SMS en octobre pour m'indiquer que l'acte de naissance déposé n'était plus valable et qu'il faut passer en redeposer un plus récent de moins de 3 mois. Paiement en espèces d'une somme imposée sans aucune explications ! Ambassade corrompue, la priorité est établie à la tête du client. Est-on toujours en France ?? À ce jour, toujours aucune idée sur l'avancement de mon dossier. Aucune langue adaptée aux demandeurs, on ne parle ni anglais, ni français, ni tamoul, on nous répond en cinghalais avec un rire en coin. On nous reçoit en regardant un match de cricket sur son téléphone. Que peut-on faire pour que ça change ?!! Étant français, né sur le territoire et ayant la nationalité, marié à un étranger, on doit subir tout ce qui est imposé là. À se demander si on a vraiment envie de visiter ce pays...
