Très bon restaurant

We found this spot by accident. Didn’t have any reservations but they were kind enough to let us in at 8.30pm. We had the langusitine- absolutely perfect , well cooked and not over cooked. We met another lovely couple and conversations were good.
The waiter was fabulous , we even took a picture with him afterwards. I highly recommend

Absolutely fantastic experience. The oysters were extremely juicy and meaty. The fish was out of this world and the Meunière sauce was executed at a godly level. The Mille-feuille was the perfect finish for an unforgettable dinner. The staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome at all times.

By far the best Sole Meunière in Paris! The staff were extremely friendly and the wine list was immaculate as well! Definitely a must try in Paris

My favourite restaurant in Paris.

Un très agréable repas : une salle calme un samedi midi, un service impeccable et très chaleureux et des assiettes de qualité. Les produits sont très frais et la carte variée. Le vin excellent. La note peut devenir "salée" mais j'ai passé un très bon moment !

Le Duc — a disappointing experience

I had high hopes for Le Duc — a legendary Paris seafood restaurant, highly recommended by many. Unfortunately, the evening didn’t live up to the expectations.

The food was simple. Oysters, langoustines, dorade — everything was fresh, but nothing stood out. There were no memorable flavors or creative touches. I have nothing against simple, well-executed dishes, but for a dinner costing over €400, you expect something more — something with character and personality. That never happened.

The interior felt like an old-school yacht club — lots of wood and brass. Some may find it charming, but to me it felt dated and impersonal.

The biggest disappointment, however, was the service. After trying a monkfish dish, I had a mild allergic reaction (I’m a doctor and an allergy-prone person, so I was well prepared). I quickly took care of it, nothing serious. I calmly informed the waiter, not expecting much, just sharing the information. To my surprise, instead of showing concern, he just made a joke: “We have a good doctor here, shall I call him?” — and walked away without even checking if I was okay or asking how the food was.

It left me with a bad aftertaste — not from the food, but from the attitude. You don’t expect this kind of reaction from a place with such a reputation and price level.

For the first time during all my trips to France, I left without wanting to leave a tip.

Le Duc — к сожалению, большое разочарование

Я шел в Le Duc с серьезными ожиданиями — легендарный парижский ресторан, плюс рекомендации, но по факту вечер не сложился.

Начну с еды: всё на уровне простоты. Устрицы, лангустины, дорадо — без сомнения свежие, но ничего выдающегося. Вкусовых открытий не было, подача минималистичная, блюда будто бы сделаны «по инструкции». Я не против простой кухни, но здесь за ценник ужина в 400+ евро ждешь не просто честный продукт, а что-то с душой и индивидуальностью. Этого не случилось.

Интерьер — старомодный стиль яхт-клуба, дерево, латунь. Кому-то, возможно, покажется уютным, но для меня показался безликим и устаревшим.

Но самое главное — сервис. Во время ужина после блюда с рыбой-дьяволом у меня началась аллергическая реакция (я аллергик и медик, всегда наготове). Симптомы быстро купировал, ничего критичного. Я спокойно сообщил об этом официанту без каких-то ожиданий, кстати вопроса о аллергии и непереносимости продуктов не было. Но в ответ получил... шутку. В стиле: «У нас есть хороший доктор, хотите позову?» — и официант просто ушел, не поинтересовавшись даже моим самочувствием и как вообще блюда.

Вот это действительно было неприятно. Не ожидаешь подобного в ресторане такого уровня. Я впервые за всё время путешествий по Франции ушел без малейшего желания оставить чаевые.

Le Duc оставил чувство не разочарования в кухне — еда была съедобной и свежей — а именно в отношении к гостю.

Best restaurant in all of Paris. Dominique the owner is so friendly and warm. The John Dory with the vodka butter is inventive and delciious. If you love seafood this is a must

A high-end Parisian experience. Food, ambiance, staff top notch. Sole Meuniere worth coming back for. The mille-feuille is exquisite. Bravo!

Great traditional high end seafood. For our meal, I think they forgot our main courses (no apologies either) until we reminded them, so it took a while longer and ended up being a 2.5 hour dinner. Otherwise service was very friendly and good.

Both the taste and the freshness are beyond amazing. Would give 10 stars if I could ❤️

Une arnaque sur le rapport qualité/prix du menu à 60€ … pour la présentation des plats, nous avons hésité sur du conceptuel ou du foutage de gueule ???? ( 3 bouts de saumon en vrac avec 3 petites patates non épluchées et abîmées, une salade de fruit avec 3 bouts de pamplemousse et 3 bouts d’orange dans un ramequin basique …) et le vin au verre très cher pour la qualité… les produits sont bons mais ça vaut à peine 25€

Le menu du midi a 60€ ne vaut absolument pas son prix. L’entrée « saumon au naturel » nous a été servie : 3 pommes de terres non épluchées entières et 3 petits pavés de saumon cru. Une blague ! Le plat, filet de dorade sauce miso et wasabi avec du riz noir était bonne, la salade de fruit pas dressée, fade et le gâteau au chocolat peu d’intérêt. Un verre de vin à minimum 16€ pour un vin bon mais c’est vraiment trop cher pour ce que c’est. Le rapport qualité/prix est très très décevant. Serveurs sympathiques cependant.

Decouvert lors d'un dîner le samedi 16 nov, ce restaurant propose des plats de qualité mais à des prix exagérés: daurade marinée aux agrumes en entrée à plus de 35€, St Pierre a plus de 60€ et l'île flottante à 20€.
De plus si je n'avais pas mangé beaucoup de pain, je serai ressorti en ayant faim car les portions sont assez restreintes.
Un serveur s'est permis de l'humour bien peu appropriée quand un des convives de la table à fait une allergie alimentaire...
Bref....Il y a bien d'autres restaurants de poissons à Paris avec des rapports qualité-prix bien plus intéressants.

Great seafood selection, small menu but great selection. Wine was good too!

I was really looking forward to eating here. It’s definitely pricey so was looking for the right occasion. The atmosphere and decor are lovely and original. The staff and service is attentive and charming. Good if pricy wine menu. But of course we went here to eat. And while the food was definitely good it did not live up to its reputation and its elevated prices.I had the sole in their lemon butter sauce. I love this dish and have eaten it all over Paris. Le Duc’s was enormous (American style) and heavy. I enjoyed eating it don’t get me wrong but at that price level I’ve eaten better. I regret being critical here as we had a lovely time overall and the team couldn’t have been more accommodating but it does come down to the quality of the dishes after all.

Service très moyen : Familiarités, tables non débarrassées / redressées, verrerie dépareillée…
Langoustines gingembres excellentes, pâtes aux safrans sans aucune recherche.
Vins hors de prix : coefficient 10 sur certaine bouteilles (Mikulski côte d’Or).
Addition au frein à main : 300€.
Le naufrage n’est pas loin…

Once of those seafood restaurants with lots of dark wood and mounted pictures of racing hulls.

Specialty are crudos and shellfish, all super high quality French seafood. Dover sole is also highly rated.

Feel like there should be *even more* hype around how good this place is.

Unfortunately, the date we went the lunch menu just wasn’t up to expectation, especially with the price tag and the reputation It comes with. The coffee and tea machine was also so broken, so I didn’t know how to finish my dessert without my coffee.

Excellent restaurant de poissons, dans un quartier à l'écart des flux touristiques et fréquenté par une clientèle majoritairement parisienne. L'environnement est agréable; la carte est très intéressante et tout donne envie. Le choix se porte sur quelques plats signatures et un particulier sur la sole meunière, énorme et délicieuse et sur le filet de Saint-Pierre, préparé avec une exquise sauce typiquement française. Même les desserts se mangent avec plaisir. Grand choix de vins mais seulement un bon verre ce soir. Service amical et professionnel, avec divers serveurs tous très gentils et élevés mais conformes à l'excellente qualité du poisson.
