The food was great! The tarama was excellent! The apple crumble dessert was meh. Portions on the smaller side. We went on a Friday night and had no problem getting on the wait list. Service was mostly good. We sat down around 8:30 and by 10 the server seemed to be in a hurry to get us out of there, which seemed weird. We also would have ordered more wine but they never asked ????‍♀️

Small plates are a really tricky genre of restaurant to get right - it isn't (shouldn't be) an opportunity just to give people less value for a dish, it should be about stripping out the filler and concentrating solely on the core flavours and textures. Clamato does this very well indeed - you can absolutely get more food for less money elsewhere, but not at this quality point or with such attention to detail. The menu makes great creative use of different forms of seafood, with a good variety of raw shellfish to anchor it all. Ample quantities of high quality bread ensures that you don't leave hungry even if the plate portions are small.

Everything else is spot on, at least at lunch - a quality, fairly priced wine menu, nice little mezcal list (though prices there get exorbitant fast), good service (in English too), a pleasant atmosphere and space.
