HÔTEL MONTALEMBERT ^{* * * * *}

The main drawback on an otherwise great experience was the the lack of AC due to an equipment failure. The entirety of our stay was made bearable by a small fan in our suite. Staff is exceptional here and the location is very good- close to shopping and dining in the area (Joel Rubichon is next door). We had to travel a bit to get to some sights (e.g., Eiffel Tower).

Chambre très confortable et calme. Salle de bain superbe. Petit déjeuner extra. Personnel aux petits soins. Situation dans Paris idéale. Il y a un côté cosy, feutré, qui fait que l'on se sent à l'aise même si l'endroit est distingué. Bref on y est bien.

I love the Hotel Montalembert. It is the hotel I choose each time I visit Paris-which is frequently. This boutique hotel is welcoming, lovely, comfortable, and cozy. I look forward to their delicious breakfasts and the personal attention. In addition the location is fabulous.

We found the Montalembert to be a wonderful hotel, and greatly enjoyed our stay there. On arrival we were welcomed with champagne and Laduree treats in the room. ||Our room, a junior suite, was spacious (as expected) and kept clean and tidy for us throughout, both morning and evening.||Reception had apologised on our arrival that the air-conditioning was not going to work, and offered a fan; ||although we found that, as they suggested, the air coming in through an open window or two was cooling enough. ||(We think that in midsummer a fully-functioning air-cond would be important; our stay was in spring.)||Bottled water was provided for overnight refreshment; and at other times, could be requested.||For breakfast we chose the continental option and the option "to keep well" (forgive me when I translate!), ||which was a tasty and filling enough start to the Parisian day for us not to need anything cooked.||One evening we ate in the Brasserie; and there ate very well indeed.||The waiter, fluent in both English and French, was able to answer our mealtime queries - we were interested in a sauce, you see, that accompanied a particular dish, and made amusing rejoinders at times. ||The hotel, he told us, were proud of their new chef recently arrived; and rightly so, we think. ||Madame herself, the General Manager, went out of her way more than once to ask after our well-being; and we do thank her and her staff (many of whom were at least bilingual) for being so attentive towards us during our stay in this lovely hotel. Its location meant we were within walking distance of many of the sights of Paris, both well-known and some lesser known. ||Should we revisit the City, the Hotel Montalembert will certainly be in the forefront of our mind.||

This hotel was perfect for my first time in Paris. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, especially Claire. The room was clean, cute and charming. The location was easily walkable to restaurants, shops and public transportation. The common areas in the building were welcoming and beautifully decorated. I will certainly visit again.
