Friendly and helpful staff greeted us when we checked in. We enjoyed the excellent breakfast and coffee. Our room was clean, a bit small, with a good shower. The Grand Hotel des Balcons is on a quiet street within walking distance to restaurants, sights, shops and the Jardin du Luxembourg. There is no a/c and the room was hot during the May heat wave. Found out later that the front desk could have provided us with a fan.

Stayed at a single room. It was really small but had a french balcony, desk, wardrobe and bathroom with shower. It was clean. My big issue was that you could hear everything from the corridor and other rooms, especially when they went to the bathroom/took a shower. Another person's vibrating phone woke me up every morning! The smallest elevator I've ever seen. The breakfast area had flickering lights that made me nauseous and had a really small selection for a buffet. Not a single vegetable and no fruit besides one morning when there where a few bananas. Friendly staff though. Nice location, felt safe.

My sister chose this hotel for price and location. As a 2 star hotel, it provides adequate accommodation. The beds are comfortable, the premises are clean. No night stands. Electric kettle provided in room ( coffee is Nescafé- I always bring my own Starbucks)|No tissues. Ran out of toilet paper a couple of times. Very limited electric outlets- my converter/adaptor has 4 plugs and charging ports- I highly recommend. Also recommend earplugs as the sounds between rooms carry. No microwave or refrigerator in room. Breakfast is available for 12 euros. We didn’t feel it was really worth it if you want to buy a pastry and fruit. Walking distance to the metro, a good grocery store, many restaurants and Luxembourg gardens. We bought a lot of our dinners from the many great stores in the area- salads and sandwiches- able to eat downstairs in the breakfast area. The reception staff is extremely friendly and helpful. All in all, a reasonable no- frills location.

This is THE place to stay in Paris. As a woman travelling solo, from Australia and the first time in Europe, the hotel was in a wonderful, safe area. Close to public transport and so many amazing sites. The breakfast was great and the staff are so helpful and kind. If I am lucky enough to return to Paris, I would only ever stay here!

I will say that this is a fine place to stay... And the staff are truly wonderful. The rooms however are a place to sleep and shower and not much else... And yes they are clean. Just realise you are paying the Paris tax so a room that would be $50/75 is $300... But you have good access to Paris downtown area.

We had a good experience at this lovely hotel - fresh bright rooms with comfortable beds and no noise at night, immaculately clean throughout, very varied tasty breakfast and friendly helpful staff. Location is excellent with so many top attractions within walking distance and an abundance of lovely cafes and restaurants in the immediate area. Would 100% return. Thank you!

Een hotel zonder pretentie maar proper en met al het essentiële, perfect gelokaliseerd dicht bij de Sorbonne en op sportieve wandelafstand van de klassieke Parijse hoogtepunten. Gastvrij, vriendelijk en empatisch personeel. Meer dan eerlijk ontbijt....Ondanks geanimeerde buurt mogelijk om met open venster te slapen..

Extremely friendly staff who say ‘bonjour’ every time you see them and ‘merci’ every time you drop off your room key. Walls are thin between rooms but silent at night, so it’s no problem. Buffet breakfast is wonderful and at a reasonable price. Hotel is in walking distance to the Louvre, Notre Dame, RER/metro stations, Pont des Arts, etc. Mattress and pillow were both very comfortable.

Nettes Hotel mit kleinen Unannehmlichkeiten.|Verbesserungspotential liegt bei zB der Reparatur der Dusche (der Duschkopf rutschte immer runter und Reparatur ging 3 Tage), es kam kaum Wasser aus der Dusche, die superklein war, keine Mischamatur & dauernd heiß/kalt, Auffüllen von Toilettenpapier musste 2x nachgefragt werden, der Föhn funktioniert per se nicht im Bad, man muss unter den Tisch krabbeln für die Steckdose un es gibt keine einzige Steckdose am Bett.|Lage ist zentral, Frühstück gut, Personal durchweg freundlich.|Keine Klimaanlage, dürfte in der Stadt bei höheren Temperaturen höllisch schwül werden.

Perfektes Hotel für einen Städtetrip: zentral gelegen in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße, zur Metrostation Odeon braucht man keine 5 min, zur Haltestelle Nr.4 von Tootbus braucht man keine 10 min. In der direkten Umgebung befindet sich der Jardin du Luxembourg und das Odeon, in der näheren Umgebung gibt es zahlreiche Restaurants.
Ich hatte ein Einzelzimmer mit einem großen Bett - sehr bequem. Das Fenster ging zu einem kleinen, sauberen Innenhof, also keine Mülltonnen o.ä. Morgens wurde ich mit dem Duft von frischen Croissants wach.
Die Angestellten sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

my wife daughter and i stayed her for 6 nights. its located in a quieter street in the saint germain area. close to the odeon metro station and lots of different restaurants in the area from french, vietnamese, japanese and indian, as well as a lot of small grocery stores. we had a room with 3 twin beds, 2 side by side and 1 on the other side of the room. the room had plenty of space and the bathroom was clean and modern with a tub shower and 120/240v outlet which would have been good to know before coming. the elevator is small and fits 3 max but worked perfectly. we didn't eat breakfast at the hotel but its available for 12 euro per person and you need to book at least a day ahead. we really liked the area because it was a good home base to see all parts of paris. it was an easy walk to the latin quarter and the louvre. we would definitely stay again at this property. it was clean, the staff were nice and a great location.

This was my fifth stay at The Grand Hotel des Balcons, and it's always a pleasure to return there.
It's a small, family-run hotel, with very welcoming and friendly staff.
The location can't be beaten - right in the middle of the city, two minutes' walk from Odeon metro, and also very easy to walk everywhere should you wish to. The beautiful Luxembourg Gardens are also just five minutes' walk away and a perfect place to relax in this busy city.
The hotel is very clean and comfortable. The rooms are quite small, but then this is Paris and you would have to spend a fortune if you wanted a big hotel room in such a central location.
My only slight disappointment on this visit was that, despite booking four months in advance, we were given a room right by the elevator, which was a bit noisy with people returning after we'd gone to bed.
Other than that it was a very enjoyable stay and we hope to be back again before too long.

Personnel très sympathique et accueillant ! Le service était excellent. L'emplacement est extraordinaire et on ne peut vraiment pas faire mieux pour le prix. Les chambres sont petites, même pour l'Europe. Le minimum d'équipements, mais sinon c'est un excellent endroit pour séjourner pendant votre voyage.
