Great French simple but very tasty food for incredible prices - we spent less than €35 in total on two 3-course dinners including half a liter of rose for 2! Service is fast and friendly and the decor is authentic. As a plus it is right across Gare de l’Est which makes it the ideal place to have dinner before or after taking the train.

The man at the door was not very friendly taking us to our table. Our waiter (older man) did not speak any English and he had a hard time translating what was on the English menu to his French menu, he got it wrong many times but made no effort to get a waiter who spoke English. Even if he had basic level of duck=ganard would be helpful. Our sides came when all the meals were finished. My order of fries had 2 black hairs in it. The meal itself was cooked well but could have have a jus (confit duck). The worst part was the method of ordering where he wrote it on the table in completely not legible handwriting so even if we took a picture we could not refer to it for adding up the bill, when we did add it up using the menu there was a 20 euro difference that had been added but by this time we had left. When we asked the waiter for a receipt we were either denied or he pretended not to know or make an effort to understand. The food was not bad but very dissapointed with this service and unintelligent method of ordering and receipt.

They randomly added 20€ to our bill without saying anything. The waiter didn't speak a single word of english even if they gave us english menus. To order he wrote almost incomprehensible things on the table cloth, we had taken a photo of that and checked the list of orders and it was correct but the total was magically 20€ more . We asked for the receipt when we paid and he pretended to not understand.
