CITIZEN M PARIS LA DÉFENSE ^{* * * *}

Très bel hôtel, situé juste en face de la Défense Arena.

Je suis extrêmement déçue par mon séjour dans cet hôtel. Dès mon arrivée, l’accueil a été glacial. La dame à la réception parlait à peine français et ne savait pas expliquer les choses clairement.
J’avais pourtant pris la peine de les contacter avant la réservation pour demander une chambre avec une belle vue. Résultat : on m’a mise au premier étage, sans aucune vue, comme si j’étais dans une cave. Côté confort, la chambre était minuscule. Le lavabo était à l’extérieur de la salle de bain, et la douche et les toilettes étaient mal agencées.
Le Chromecast de la télévision ne fonctionnait pas, et quand j’ai appelé la réception pour demander de l’aide, on m’a carrément proposé de changer de chambre… à 1h du matin !
En descendant au bar pour demander un renseignement, j’ai eu l’impression de déranger. Le personnel semblait fatigué ou carrément agacé. Et le pire : tout est imposé en anglais, comme si parler français était un problème.
La chambre ne pouvait même pas être aérée car les fenêtres étaient bloquées. Le concept est mal pensé, l’ambiance est froide, et clairement, ça ne vaut absolument pas les 400 € que j’ai payés.
En plus, on m’a encaissé une caution de 27 € alors que j’ai laissé la chambre impeccable. Pour moi, c’est tout simplement du vol. Je ne reviendrai plus jamais.

I love citizenM's concept and style, their room format and their wonderful big common rooms. But even between one citizenM and the other there are differences and I've never had a better experience than in the PLD location. This time was better than ever, because it was more important than ever. I travel to Paris with a folding bike, because I can't walk well because of a disability. It was stolen and even though I know Paris well and am not easily thrown for a loop, I was distraught because I instantly have a big problem without my bicycle. Many hours in a police station and a lot of walking and feeling vulnerable later, still dealing with the consequences, I finally made the PLD staff made me feel worthy and safe again. This may sound over the top, but it's true. They went out of their way to make me feel better and made a huge difference. I can't thank you enough. ||||On a more practical and less emotional side: the room did have a few issues, there were a few broken things (maybe by guests) and for the first time (which is still impressive, after many years) a citizenM room showed signs of intensive use. The response was instant, nice, decisive and serious. Very professional.||||For the people who don't know citizenM and/or have their doubts about the 'far away' location: don't think twice, just book now. You'll never get better value, in my opinion. Less than ten minutes from metro line 1 which gets you to the very heart of Paris in twenty minutes for just EUR 2,50. Business area so much quieter than the center of Paris, but enough amenities near the hotel, for example a big shopping center with supermarket etc. Not that you need it: citizenM's bar, food, breakfast, common room, etc. are enough to not make you want to go out. Big bed, lovely shower, unusual views, enough room, private safe parking under the hotel (and not having to drive in Paris but only on the outer ring road and in Nanterre is a bonus if you're not feeling very secure in a big city), a breakfast that is actually worth the price (how often does that happen in hotels?), great style and a sense of luxury for an affordable price compared to everything within the périphérique. And of course, there's the personal touch that I love - but if you just want to go about your own business and want to be left alone, that's also possible, because checking in and out can be done without staff if you prefer. ||||I could go on, but the short version is that this hotel suits all my Paris needs.

Un hotel muy curioso. Muy domotizado, teniendo multitud de opciones a través de una tablet de la habitación (manejas aire acondicionado, TV, persianas, luces, pones alarma, etc.)
La estética es muy peculiar y personalmente me pareció acogedor.
