HÔTEL LES GOUVERNEURS ^{* * * *}

Excellent hotel in the Citadel area of Bastia, overlooking the harbour and port. Very comfortable modern rooms with all facilities. Definitely worth getting a room with a view.|We stayed in February after Valentine's Day, and the hotel remained fairly busy throughout our stay. Very good breakfast, although the coffee could be better considering one is staying in a part of France !!|A few quibbles : |- we arrived by ferry late in the evening and the hotel had said that they had booked a taxi for us, but I had to call twice, and it eventually came half an hour late. It seemed to be the only taxi in Bastia ( which is highly unlikely ). |- there is only walking access to the hotel as it is in the old quarter where vehicles are not allowed. That could be a problem for people with mobility impairment.|- there are some very good restaurants in the local vacinity, and also a short walk into the main part of town or around the harbour, so we did not bother with trying the evening meals in the hotel. However we were put off by trying an evening meal in the hotel by the fact it was served on low tables, with "comfy" chairs, in the common reception, bar, entrance area. There is no dedicated restaurant room apart from the terrace, where breakfast is served, which in winter is a canopy area. Maybe in summer, or warmer weather, that would be much more enticing, especially with the view.|- our room had an ensuite toilet / shower room, no bath, and the shower was not fully enclosed, so if one was not careful one ended up with water all over the shower / toilet room floor area. The water temperature seemed to randlomly get extremely hot and cool.|- the partitioning walls in part of the hotel are not soundproof, so at busy times it could be a bit noisy.|Saying all that though, definitely worth staying, attentive not not overly intrusive staff which is also a bonus.

Nous avons pu profiter du lever de soleil confortablement lovés sous la couette. |Tout est fait pour qu'on s'y sente parfaitement bien. Le personnel est très gentil, souriant et aux petits soins. Le salon-restaurant est très chaleureux et accueillant. L'espace spa est idéal en hiver pour passer un moment coccoon et bien être. La masseuse est très douce et à l'écoute.|Les chambres et salle de bain sont spacieuses et confortables. Le restaurant excellent et les petits déjeuners très copieux et délicieux. |Le quartier de la citadelle, avec ses dédales de petites rues, est un bonheur à parcourir. |Une adresse incontournable pour de prochaines escapades.

J’avais l’habitude de séjourner dans cet hotel pour sa vue incroyable et son petit dej super, mais des gros travaux ont lieu en ce moment en face des chambres, le matin nous avons été réveillés à coups de marteaux piqueurs dès 7h30. C’est non stop entre 7h30 et 12h puis 14h-17h donc impossible de se reposer l'après midi ni travailler c’est à rendre fou. Il y en a pour plusieurs mois. J'étais dans la chambre 16, à fuir si vous souhaitez vous reposer!

Dopo aver pagato più di 270 euro per una junior suite, il trattamento che ci è stato riservato è il medesimo: per la cena abbiamo atteso più di un’ora e mezza per essere servite. I clienti accanto a noi, arrivati dopo di noi, sono stati serviti prima ed hanno finito di cenare che a noi ancora non avevano servito nemmeno l’antipasto. Inoltre abbiamo noi dovuto chiedere il menù, dopo che abbiamo notato che era stato consegnato ai clienti affianco e non a noi. Nessuno ci ha informate del fatto, inoltre, che la colazione non fosse inclusa. Ce l’hanno presentata come offerta per poi, una volta fatta, presentarci un conto di 50 euro. Fosse stata buona avrebbe avuto forse senso, ma le torte erano tutte dure come il marmo, lasciate fuori all’aria senza protezione. I pancake molli come gomma, immangiabili. Unica cosa fresca i croissant, il resto tutto palesemente riproposto dopo giorni. Assolutamente non consigliato per via del trattamento e del servizio non chiaro.
