We’ve visited Corsica many times and for our return to Ajaccio we wanted somewhere near the Citadelle with sea view. San Carlu certainly delivers on that. The views are spectacular, particularly from the breakfast room/bar and roof terrace. This (almost) justifies the pricey rates. Our room was pretty small however, with nowhere much to unpack. The open rail for clothes hangers had a surprisingly budget feel. The bathroom was great though, and almost as big as the bedroom. Breakfast was decent enough but unremarkable considering the price. Reception staff were charming, helpful and spoke good English. Overall, expensive but probably the best in the city

Le San Carlu à Ajaccio est un véritable bijou ! Ce boutique hôtel offre une situation idéale, à deux pas des charmantes rues animées, avec leurs petits restaurants typiques et épiceries fines pleines de caractère. Le personnel est absolument extraordinaire, toujours accueillant et attentif, ce qui rend le séjour encore plus agréable. L’hôtel est d’une propreté irréprochable, et son charme unique en fait un endroit où l’on se sent immédiatement à l’aise. Un endroit à ne pas manquer pour un séjour inoubliable à Ajaccio !

The hotel is perfectly situated. It is close to the centre and the restaurants but in the same time very quiet. You reach a beautiful beach in 2 minutes on foot. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very tasteful and clean. I would go there anytime again
