LE CHÂTEAU DE SACY

This place is truly perfect. The staff are kind and attentive. The views make you feel like you're in a movie. The food and champagne are amazing - recommend the Degustation menu. We stayed in the Cocoon suite "Roi de Soleil" which is jaw-dropping. I wish we had time to stay longer!

We were genuinely taken aback by how poor the service was at this restaurant... especially considering the standard this hotel sets everywhere else.

The server was... let's say not exactly friendly. And while I don’t expect theatrical smiles, a minimum level of grace and timing is surely not too much to ask.

Throughout the evening, we felt rushed, our conversations were repeatedly interrupted midsentence with no regard for timing or tone. We ordered dessert wine that never arrived, yet was still included on the bill. When I pointed it out, the server seemed visibly irritated, as if correcting her mistake was an inconvenience.

Dessert was brought out, placed on a tray and left standing a couple of meters from our table (which we did not realize until it was brought to us 10 mins later). The same thing happened with the bill, it was just left nearby. There was no communication between staff, no attentiveness, no effort to ensure things were served when ready or brought to the guest.

To make matters even worse - the next day we discovered that two entirely unrelated bills had been charged to our room... nearly 800 euros. I had to clarify the situation with reception. That kind of mistake is inexcusable in a hotel / restaurant that claims any level of refinement.

The food itself was really good, but honestly, that is not what I’ll remember. All I’m left with is an
impression of a poorly managed place with untrained, inattentive, and frankly unprofessional staff.

We had chosen the restaurant for a quiet birthday dinner but in hindsight, room service would have been a far better choice.

Poor food, poor wine. AND took 100 euro’s of our creditcard because they made a mistake putting our reservation during the day instead of evening. Don’t go here!!
