Four of us visiting from London. Max was initially fully booked the first day we tried but booked us in the following day, but then he went out of his way to make sure we had somewhere to dine on the first night.
When we came the following day for our booking, we were invited in with open arms. A great level of humour and service. When asking for suggestions to drink they pushed the local bottle which we were really greatful for as it was delicious. And then the food was absolutely perfect. I was so satisfied with the meal and the service. Would highly suggest you go visit Max's for a meal!!

We stumbled on Chez Max as the Air BnB we’d booked was around the corner in Magenta, over the bridge from Epernay. When we checked out reviews it seemed like a place we shouldn’t miss, despite the outside looking rather dated. It was almost impossible to get a spot but we found a lunchtime reservation and grabbed it! So, so glad we did. It was brilliant from start to finish. Excellent service, a wide very authentic French menu, chatting with other diners who came back time after time after time, delicious food and fantastic showmanship from our host. Fabulous lunch and we will make this a priority stop if we’re back in the Champagne region.

Nous sommes arrivés sans réservation et la personne qui nous a accueilli nous a trouver une place parfaite. Les deux personnes qui nous on servis étaient au petit soin. On s’est régalés. On recommande largement ce restaurant.
