Une très belle découverte ! Un service aimable, comme il faut niveau timing, ni trop rapide, ni trop long, c'était parfait. Un menu rapport, qualité, prix comme on aime. Une entrée très bonne avec un oeuf cocotte au saumon, une patate délicieuse avec sa saucisse Montbéliarde et une île flottante très bonne également, tout ça pour seulement 20€ ! On retrouve très peu de restaurant à ce prix avec une aussi bonne qualité. Très bien servi, très copieux. Un large choix sur la carte. Je recommande vraiment cette petite pépite. Je reviendrais rapidement pour goûter au reste de la carte. Vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés.

We had high hopes for Au Petit Fourneau after booking over a week in advance and reading the (surprisingly glowing) reviews, but our experience was frankly one of the worst we’ve had dining out—anywhere, let alone in France.

We arrived promptly at 7:30pm for our reservation and were greeted not by a warm welcome, but by a clunky, glitchy tablet system to place our order. While we’re always open to new formats, this felt needlessly awkward and impersonal for a restaurant that seems to pride itself on traditional French fare.

What followed was an inexplicable two-hour wait during which every other table around us—at least five or six of them—received their food, some even finishing their meals and leaving. We tried to remain patient, but it became increasingly clear we had been either forgotten or deprioritised. Eventually, someone brought out a cold pâté starter and what can only be described as a bowl of warm milk. We genuinely don’t say this lightly: it was bizarre, completely unappetising, and borderline inedible. We tried to stay polite, but it was, quite honestly, awful.

When the mains finally arrived, things somehow got worse. We were served two undercooked potatoes sitting in another pool of what seemed suspiciously like warm milk again—this time we weren’t sure whether it was a sauce gone wrong or simply a repeat of the earlier disaster. The “filet steaks” were laughably bad. They were definitely not filet. The cuts were tough, gristly, and poorly trimmed, more reminiscent of chuck steak (and even that feels too kind). They were also badly cooked—no sear, no seasoning, just sad grey meat.

Even the frozen chips managed to be a failure. How you ruin frozen chips is beyond us, but somehow they pulled it off. Limp, pale, and barely warm.

Service throughout the evening was equally poor. Staff were inattentive and seemed overwhelmed, despite the restaurant not being particularly busy. There was no apology for the wait, no explanation, and no effort made to rectify the situation. The whole experience felt apathetic at best, and at worst, completely indifferent to the quality of the food or the experience of the guests.

This is not the standard you’d expect in France, especially in a region known for its culinary excellence. We’re genuinely shocked that this restaurant has any positive reviews at all—it calls into question how authentic or trustworthy they are.

A deeply disappointing evening. We left hungry, frustrated, and very much out of pocket. Avoid.

Établissement tenu (à mon impression), par des jeunes, ce qui n'est aucunement une critique, bien au contraire!! C'est encourageant de voir des jeunes s'investir dans un restaurant. Et ce qui explique la prise de commande, par l'intermédiaire d'une tablette tactile. Autant dire tout de suite, qu'il faut être à l'aise avec l'outil informatique. La prise en main de la tablette était rapide pour ma part, mais moins évidente pour ma femme et mon fils. Le décors de la terrasse est vraiment minimaliste. Il ne faut pas s'attendre à quelque chose de fou. Passons au repas. Le délai d'attente est un peu long, mais acceptable quand même. J'ai pris une patate façon fermière. Je me suis régalé! Par contre, l'expérience fût moins convaincante pour ma femme (qui ne s'est pas régalée pour le coup), ainsi que pour mon fils (qui aurait préféré un steack haché, ou des nuggets, le restaurant n'en proposant pas). Bref, une expérience pas déplaisante pour ma part, mais plus mitigé pour ma femme et mon garçon. Nous y reviendrons peut-être... Ou pas.

Très belle expérience culinaire. Nous sommes arrivés sans réservation et avons été agréablement surpris par la gentillesse et la bienveillance de Valérie.
Le système de tablette est très bien pensé et les plats proposés sont identiques aux photos des menus,ce qui n'est pas très courant.
Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir !

Lors d’un weekend end pour une réunion familiale nous sommes tombés par hasard sur ce petit restaurant et nous avons passé un excellent moment. Les produits sont frais, cuisinés et goûteux. Le choix est varié et nous avons apprécié de trouver une version et végétarienne et végane. Quant aux prix, il est rare de trouver une formule proposée à 20€, avec entrée/plat/dessert un vendredi soir, bravo à vous.

Déçu de ma visite au petit fourneau portant bien noté.

Nous étions 6 et avons choisi de dîner dans la cour extérieure car il manquait de ventilation en intérieur lors de la canicule. Nous étions serré près d’un panneau en bois avec des pares soleil étouffant. Il n’est pas possible de les enrouler le soir, car un oiseau salirait les tables. Le menu est visible sur des tablettes. Cela complique énormément la commande qui a prit un temps fou et n’a aucun intérêt à mon goût puisque que ça n’est pas relié à la cuisine. La sélection est étrange avec une majorité de plats à base de pomme de terre, peu avenant par un jour de canicule.

Après une attente interminable (1h15) et un serveur complément dépassé et sur les rotules, les plats principaux sont arrivés. Mon steak/frites était bon mais l’attente a vraiment tout gâché.

Point positif, le champagne était délicieux bien que la carte soit limité.

Fantastisch restaurant! Vanaf de buitenkant valt het helemaal niet op, en zou je er zo voorbij lopen. Maar van binnen is het een erg leuk en klein restaurant, maar heerlijk eten en vooral ook vriendelijke bediening!

Unusually big (!) selection of baked potatoes with different cheeses and add-ons, loved the choice! The service was a bit slow, maybe one needs to think of some extra people to serve on weekend evenings but that did not spoil the experience as the food was very good. Booking is a must.

The best onion soup I had in my life - special thanks to chef Valerie.
I would recommend to reserve a table in advance. Really Lovely place with great French homemade food.

Lovely little restaurant! Staff very friendly. I would reserve. Good sized portions and good value for money. They have a gorgeous fried vegetable shared starter, a little like tempura, which is vegan. For mains they do their famous baked potato dish as a vegetarian option but on the menu I also spotted a vegan version too. Highly recommended.
