Heel goed gegeten en de service was uitstekend. Jammer dat de menukaart alleen in het Frans beschikbaar was.

Ruim van tevoren gereserveerd, meerdere malen bevestigd. Echter op de dag zelf (op een feestdag) kregen wij te horen dat we geen reservering hadden, omdat een telefoonnummer zou ontbreken. Dit was echter niet waar, heb bewijzen overlegd dat ik die had toegestuurd en daar was ook nog een bevestiging van gehad. Na mijn mail, werd ik wel teruggebeld met excuses. Evengoed werd er geen tafel voor ons geregeld. Het werd heel makkelijk afgeschoven. Daar sta je dan met een groep op een feestdag, elk ander restaurant vol en nergens plek. Dus dan heb je aan excuses ook niets, zeker niet als eerst naar ons werd gewezen als degene die fout zaten.
Gelukkig hebben we uiteindelijk bij een ander restaurant nog een plekje kunnen krijgen, die mensen deden veel moeite om het voor elkaar te krijgen. Daar uiteindelijk lang en uitgebreid getafeld en gedronken. Dus gemiste kans!
Als u zeker wil zijn van een reservering, boek ergens anders! Dit is namelijk totaal niet netjes opgelost en ook geen beschaafde manier van doen.
Gelukkig hebben we uiteindelijk bij een ander restaurant nog een plekje kunnen krijgen, die mensen deden veel moeite om het voor elkaar te krijgen. Daar uiteindelijk lang en uitgebreid getafeld en gedronken. Dus gemiste kans!
Als u zeker wil zijn van een reservering, boek ergens anders! Dit is namelijk totaal niet netjes opgelost en ook geen beschaafde manier van doen.

Had dinner there the last night and it exceeded our expectations! The restaurant was recommended by a friend in Philadelphia, ans we were delighted with the food, wine, ambiance and the attention from Lieven, the chef/owner. Would highly recommend!

Enttäuschender Service trübt den letzten Abend in Épernay
Leider wurde unser letzter Abend in Épernay nicht so, wie wir ihn uns erhofft hatten. Das Essen im Le Théâtre war größtenteils wirklich gut – geschmacklich überzeugend und schön angerichtet. Allerdings war eines der Gerichte leider sehr trocken, was den Gesamteindruck etwas getrübt hat. Die Plastikblumen auf den Tischen passen nicht zur restlichen Innenausstattung.
Noch gravierender war jedoch der Service: Die Mitarbeitenden wirkten desinteressiert, unmotiviert und waren in keiner Weise flexibel. Man hatte das Gefühl, dass sie gar keine Lust auf ihren Job haben – Freundlichkeit oder echtes Interesse an den Gästen? Fehlanzeige. Bei einem Restaurant mit 4,4 Sternen hätten wir deutlich mehr erwartet, vor allem in Sachen Gastfreundschaft.
Schade, dass unser letzter Abend durch diese Erfahrung nicht den Abschluss gefunden hat, den wir uns anhand der Online-Bewertungen erhofft hatten.

This restaurant offers fine dining. It is situated close to city center in Epernay. We had dinner there and the experience was authentic french. Food was delicious but nothing outstanding, the service was great, very attentive and experienced staff.
I recommend it, however keep in mind that it is an expensive experience.

Bien puesto, hemos comido a las 12.30, horario francés, muy bien atendidos. Las mesas bien puestas. Disponen de menús cerrados a elegir platos. Te sirven aperitivo Buena presentación y calidad. Cocina elaborada. Los precios más altos que en Bcn. Recomendable

Beau cadre dans ce restaurant, mais c’est le seul point positif. Le service est correct mais impersonnel et expéditif, la cuisine est sans saveur.

The place seems to be quite popular since it was completely booked on a monday evening, so make sure to have a reservation.
The food was ok. The amouse bouche wit cucumber gaspaccho and the aperitif with goat pannacotta and beetroot were really good!
The pistacchio dessert was way too sweet and had a rather artificial taste to it :(
They do not have an english version for the menu and none of the allergens is written in the menu and this was really unpleaseant when the sole meunier fish came with a crust of wheat to a person with gluten intollerance.
The service was impecable and they were extremely well organized considering "the full house".

We were on a champagne tour with Sparkling Tours (highly recommended) and stopped here for lunch. Wasn't expecting much. However, we had a great meal. Beautiful atmosphere, service, and food. All 7 of our dishes were good. Nice champagne list with helpful recommendations.

Bij het opnemen van de bestelling heb ik aangegeven een glutenvrij dieet te volgen. Tot drie keer toe kreeg ik echter iets opgedient met gluten. Nogmaals aangegeven dat ik niet egen gluten kan. De reactie van de ober was onverschillig. Misschien een goed restaurant maar ga er niet eten als je een voedselallergie hebt.

Had the three course menu - and everything was flawless and well presented....only downside was that the sole meuniere served to the table besides us looked absolutely gorgeous and we didn't get that :D
Service is impeccable and French - not at all arrogant or posh, just well mannered and meticulous
Total spend €179 for party of two incl. full bottle of local sparkling wine
Would definitely go again if back in Epernay
