We had 3 nights in the opulent Balcony Room. Some of the best night’s sleep we have ever had. The bed, sheets and quilt are so comfortable, and it is quiet and peaceful.
The Chateau is grand, with its formal Sitting Room, stunning entrance hall and staircase, Dining Room, and Breakfast Room on the ground floor. Bedrooms are upstairs.
The property is extensive, with its own Chapel, Orangerie and large, inviting pool (unfortunately too cold for us in April), separate Coach House, historic stone arch, tennis court and magnificent grounds with mature trees, a pond, lawns and gardens, including a large rose garden. So tranquil.
Pierre, Grahame, and Irish wolfhound Ramses, are great hosts and company.
The property is well positioned as a base to explore the Loire region, with Chinon, Bourgueuil and Saumur only short drives away. We had been to the Loire before, but we were stunned again by its magnificence, number of places of interest and wine districts.

Notre troisième séjour dans un château très spécial de la vallée de la Loire. Vous avez le choix entre les chambres d'hôtes grandioses avec un superbe petit déjeuner sur la terrasse ou le fabuleux gîte de la Coach House avec une immense piscine. Où nous venons de séjourner. Complètement relaxant, généreusement aménagé, linge de lit de luxe, serviettes et articles de toilette. Télévision par satellite pour regarder un film le soir. Visiter de nombreux arrêts de France en voiture et visiter la belle Chinon pour le dîner. Réservez directement sur le site du château. C

Deuxième séjour au Château de Détilly. La chambre aux lions est superbe et le parc très agréable en cette saison. Nous avons pu profiter de la piscine et des premières roses de l'immense roseraie. Accueil toujours au top des propriétaires.
Hôtes très accueillants, le petit dej était un délice, bref nous reviendrons avec plaisir.
