LA TABLE DU CLARANCE

We plan to come back for a longer stay within a few months, that says everything we think. The hotel was splendid, and the diner was top gastronomy!

Nous y étions allés une première fois il y a plusieurs années, avec une première expérience un peu mitigée. Nous avons retenté l'expérience il y a quelques mois. Nous restons sur le même sentiment, le lieu est assez beau quoique un peu vieillissant. Les plats étaient dans l'ensemble plutôt bons mais loin de ce que l'on attend d'un étoilé. C'est assez cher pour ce que l'on mange. C'est finalement le sommelier qui a réussi à sauver la soirée, avec des vins originaux et singuliers, ce fut la seule surprise de la soirée. On ressort de là sans trop se souvenir de ce que l'on a mangé, avec le sentiment que l'on aurait du manger ailleurs.

Hotel agréable, personnel disponible, borne pour voiture électrique ou hybride appréciable, room service sans attente prolongée et efficace.||Manque climatisation intégrée et fenêtres double vitrage.

We had a short two-day trip to Lille.|A nice stroll to the main city square from this hotel is only about 10 mins. You are surrounded by eateries and shops.|Check in was smooth with excellent service.|However, I would ask for a room that does not face rue de la Barre because it was too noisy at night. Someone had a party that went on till 230 am with people sitting on the street right under our room and loud music. We called reception and explained and she was nice enough to give us access to another room that was away from the noise (a much smaller room) as a temporary solution. And by the way we were told the hotel can't complain even if it is noisy at 2 am. But know that giving us a spare room to sleep will not be possible if the hotel is full.|Finally, not all rooms have air conditioning and we had a heat wave and the room was unbearably hot, even at night. And this was part of the reason why it was so noisy because the room was so hot you had to leave the windows open. This obviously will not be a problem in the winter or cooler months but the noise issue still needs to be addressed.|We didn't not eat at the hotel because we were so tired from the night before.

Je rejoins les avis exprimant leur déception. 300€ pour 2 personnes et des plats sans grand intérêt, servis pas assez chauds. Le cadre est vieillot et nous étions sur une table où à chaque passage de serveur le plancher et donc ma chaise s'enfoncait dans le sol. C'était vraiment irritant. Le service est soigné et les serveurs/serveuses sont particulièrement vigilants et aimables : ce fût le seul aspect étoilé de ce restaurant.
