The room we were allocated (room 9) had a huge bath in it which was a complete waste of space and the pictures we had seen on booking.com were very different to this. The bathroom door and shower door were broken and the room felt really worn/unclean. The shower leaked onto the main floor. Not what you would expect when you’re paying £350 per night! We asked to be moved and got another room (room 8) which was better and were told the reason the bathroom door didn’t shut was part of the ‘design’ . The whole design/feel of the hotel is very cold, minimal and it’s very much form over function, nothing is comfortable, there are concrete walls in the rooms. The pool area is lovely but there was no staff around to take drinks orders. The train line runs right next to the hotel so our sleep was disturbed. We were really disappointed with our stay and would not visit again or recommend it. It’s not worth the money and the surrounding areas/town are not very attractive. We had a much better time in Taormina and paid much less for a more comfortable hotel. The pictures paint a much better picture than the reality.
