"My recent experience at Chi Spa in Shangri-La Dubai was extremely disappointing. As an elderly person feeling stressed and tired, I specifically requested a relaxing massage, highlighting the sensitive areas of my body and my knee surgeries. Unfortunately, the masseuse was very rough and disregarded my concerns. The massage was excessively strong, giving the impression that she was in a hurry to finish. Overall, I was deeply disappointed with the spa, the service, the staff, and the hotel in general. Having known Chi Spa at Shangri-La in Abu Dhabi, where I used to go regularly with my family and friends, this experience in Dubai was simply incomparable in terms of quality and satisfaction."

I will not recommend this Spa at all

Never had a more relaxing experience in my life.

I was concerned with the experience, being a man on the larger side, but have never been more happy to be wrong. I was accommodated extremely well for a fantastic 90 minutes.

I had a 30 min facial and added on extractions and a hair treatment. Facial was good and I enjoyed the massage. Extraction was a total waste of money. I don't think anything was extracted at all. Firstly, how do you do extractions in a dimly lit room. Secondly, from the moment she started gently touching my face with the tool, I knew nothing would be extracted as it was too gentle! Anyone who has done extraction before will know that you need some force. After the hair treatment which was just applying some oil to your scalp, no scalp massage, I was offered shower or return to the room. As my hair was in a mess, I was ready to shower there but the shower area was poorly maintained with dirty towels on the floor, hair brush and hair dryer cannot be seen, you need to ask and someone will dig it out as if nobody asked before. I ended up returning to my room to shower and the magnifying mirror in my room showed me all my blackheads on my nose, all still intact.

If you are visiting Dubai and not staying at the Shangri-La DIFC you must have your treatments here. The staff are fantastic, friendly and supportive. I would highly recommend the 1hr deep tissue massage and 1hr foot / leg massage. Try Aida. I have visited many spas and this one ranks in my top 3. Feeling great!
