Great for a stop while doing the TMB. Rooms are nice and gets the job done. The food as part of our trek was outstanding! Amazing gluten free options, had some of the best au gratin potatoes ever, along with prime rib, smoked salmon, and giant prawns. Salads and dessert were amazing as well! Loved their local res wine too. Hope we get to return and do it again!

This hotel is centrally located with only a 10-minute walk to the small downtown area of Les Houches. The staff is incredibly helpful and the front desk is staffed during the day light hours, after hours you have to use a code to get into the lobby. The rooms are not that big and pretty basic, however, the view of the mountains and your little balcony in the back is well worth the price. The rooms are clean, there is a bathtub. Great water pressure, hot water, small mini fridge. Buffet style breakfast in the morning at a cost, and the restaurant gets very busy at night due to not only the hotel gas but also locals come to eat. The food is very good. If you're planning to hike while you're there, the hotel will offer to store your luggage in a storage room for free until you get back. The hotel can also offer private taxi service if needed. There are no taxis in this area, about the bus stops are a 5-minute walk from the hotel and they come every half hour. Once more drawback is that there is no air condition in the rooms, and if you open the large Fringe doors towards the balcony, you will hear the neighbors when they talk. The hotel does have blackout curtains.

My mistake booking a hotel with no air-conditioning when it's hot. Hotel did advertise wifi but it wasn't working during my stay. 3 star about right.

Un week-end très agréable passé dans cet établissement. Aurore & Jean-Marc nous ont accompagnés tout le long de notre séjour avec plaisir. Les repas étaient bons, le petit-déjeuner était simple mais suffisant. C'était agréable d'avoir une piscine à disposition après les journées de visite.
La vue depuis les chambres sur les montagnes enneigées était un plus qui a rendu ce moment magique!

I was looking to going skiing alone…a big decision but this holiday was the best decision I made ???? Claire from the Ski Gathering was absolutely brilliant. She answered all of my questions prior to booking and reassured me throughout… Transports & ski hire was arranged and guidance given to me on how to book the ski passes etc. Food at the hotel was fantastic as-well as the swimming pool and sauna. Aurora from the hotel was also great and extremely helpful. The holiday was great from start to finish and I met some amazing people who I enjoyed skiing with and downtime each night. I can’t praise the ‘Ski Gathering’ enough!!

I stayed here recently in early March. I was part of a trip organized by The Ski Gathering.. The hotel was excellent and staff were very accommodating and friendly.

I had the opportunity to stay at Hotel du Bois in early March for a full week. The hotel is super nice. I particularly liked how clean my room was. The food at breakfast and in the evening was delicious. ||What really stood out was the friendly and accommodating staff--genuinely very nice people. ||I would certainly consider staying at Hotel du Bois in the future.

Nous avons réservé cet hôtel en particulier pour pouvoir profiter de la piscine.
On nous annonce que celle-ci est à 28° mais en réalité elle ne doit pas dépasser les 22°. Impossible donc d'en faire profiter notre petite. Les chambres sont correctes mais pourraient être modernisées. Pas de possibilité d'augmenter la température dans la chambre.
Et une télé aussi petite qu'un écran d'ordinateur.

J'y ai séjourné plusieurs nuits en compagnie de mon petit-fils de 4 ans. Chalet plein de charme, très confortable et calme. Une très belle piscine dans une atmosphère cosy.|Personnel attentif et attentionné à l'écoute des clients. Un beau buffet de petit-déjeuner. Les dîners copieux, plats régionaux que l'on peut modifier sans supplément de prix.|Une navette efficace qui nous amène au départ de la télécabine.|Une adresse que je recommande.

L'hôtel est bien situé, place de parc gratuite à disposition. Le restaurant et le hall sont bien décorés.

Par contre, à notre arrivée dans la chambre, nous avons très vite ressenti le froid qui passe par la fenêtre qui n'est pas isolée. Le radiateur ne fonctionnait pas non plus.

Après notre journée en montagne, nous décidons d'aller à la piscine et sauna. La piscine qui devait être à 28° ne l'était pas... On décide de faire un sauna... j'ai hésité d'y rentrer car les 3 personnes qui y étaient n'avaient même pas mis un linge et tout était trempé de sueur, merci l'hygiène ! Sans compter qu'ils ont été se baigner dans la piscine sans se doucher. Il n'y a aucune consigne pour le sauna (comme prendre un linge et se doucher après). Il y a des linges à disposition mais pas de petits souliers comme on peut en trouver dans d'autres hôtels. Ce qui fait que vous rentrez avec vos propres souliers de ville dans la zone où vous vous changez. Le personnel qui revient mettre les linges y viennent avec leurs souliers de ville... pas très hygiéniques non plus.

On retourne en chambre pour pouvoir prendre une bonne douche avant notre repas, et là.... pas d'eau chaude... gelée !!! Cela peut arriver on est d'accord, mais pas une information à ce sujet de la part de la personne de l'accueil quand elle nous a vu remonter en chambre après la piscine, ni à notre arrivée !

J'aurai pensé que l'hôtel allait faire un geste commercial sur notre nuit, mais rien du tout. Pas même le petit déjeuner offert etc...

Petit déjeuner bon mais pas extraordinaire non plus. Croissant bon !

Heureusement que nous avons passé une belle soirée dans un restaurant des Houches et que nos 2 jours sur les pistes ont été magnifiques !

We recently stayed at the Chalet Hôtel Du Bois and truly appreciated their warm hospitality. (With special thanks to Vittoria and the hotel manager who saved us from a nightmare happening as we almost had to cancel our holiday due to a wrong date we accidentally booked).

The hotel facility and guest room are very basic but they have everything we needed- a nice restaurant, free shuttle bus between the hotel and the Prarion/Bellevue Cable Car as well as heated swimming pool & sauna. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and will definitely return :)

Enjoyable stay for a few days skiing in Les Houches with my son, made even better by the fabulous staff (Special shout to the lovely italian receptionistand the shuttle bus drivers). Free ski shuttle was fantastic. Well presented and clean Hotel. Lovely bar area, (although a little chilly late on). Breakfast was good.

Simply fabulous holiday with Ski Gathering a couple of weeks ago.

Jean-Marc and his staff couldn’t do enough to help and were super friendly in reception, the restaurant and the bar.

A mini bus to take us to the different areas too!

And what a bonus a swimming pool - thanks so much - I couldn’t have asked for a better trip

Hotel de Bois may not be right by the slopes but Jean-Marc's free shuttle drop-off and collection makes it as if it is. The food is way above standard hotel fayre and rightly has non-residents coming in to eat there. The rooms are clean, spacious and warm.
Came in a group with The Ski gathering as a solo skier, this was the third year running, which should tell you how happy I am with the whole package they offer!
